Yeah I wondered about that. That happened my last surgery.

But my recliner long way from bahroom

What pain meds are people on? Percocet is his drug of choice
and sometimes does nothing but make me sleepy
does not cut pain

I had oxycontin the first ten days with percocet for break through pain. And had only percocet after the first ten days.

And it doesn't work for you??? I would be asking for something else NOW, if you already know that it will not do the job for you. You need something that will work when you get home. Speak up! It is very important...

Well Silver, I do hope that you are home, tucked in your own bed with pain meds that are keeping the pain away and that you are sleeping peacefully! Rest, ice and elevate, and rest some more... Hang in there!

I knew what meds I could take and not take and was given an rx for Dilaudid and morphine before my surgeries. Filled it and had it ready when I got home.

Well. Rough first day or 2. Sent me home on lortab and i threw
up most of yesterday morning. Ugh. I told him! So now i have
percocet and zofran. Works ok. That is strongest he believes in

Oh dear, sorry to hear about your rough couple of days, Silver, but you know that things can only get better from now on, albeit slowly. Wish you well with your PT.

Oh goodness, that is an awful start at home. I do hope that the change in meds helps. I am told that some folks go to their general practitioner doctor when their ortho doesn't give them meds that do the trick. You need something that alleviates the pain so that you can rest and recover. ((((hugs))))

Your ROM is a lot better than mine. How is your swelling? I did not have nerve block. I am trying more sliding of the foot today to see if that will give me a little more. I don't want PT to be bending it for me when it isn't ready. It has to wake up and join the group one day.

Day 2 at home much better. But the incision feels very
tight and stabbing. Pt says thats normal but for how long?
Cannot lift leg without help yet
Swelling is there but not too bad. Using ice tons!

Glad to hear that day two was better. It takes time to be able to lift the leg, did they show you how to hook your right leg behind the left and use your right to lift your left? Hang in there!

Hi Silver. I hope you're continuing to improve. Amazing how we become aware of the least little niggle!

Isnt Zofran the best? I was given it after I threw up on a PT in the hospital and continued it in rehab for a few days. Then, my appetite came back: I ate anything that wasn't nailed down, and kept it all down. So, the nausea is temporary.

Have not posted in awhile. Am 3 weeks postop and doing
well. Have 106° on my own and 115° on cpm. Biggest
issue is leg raises. Muscle is so weak. I do everything else
well. Can use one crutch but have so many stairs, I carry 2.
May go out today. Cabin fever!
I can tell worst is over and can stay alone again
Can drive at 4 weeks.
