You are not a pest. You are a patient in pain. You can say, " I don't mean to bother you so much, it is just because I am in so much pain" That is only to make you feel better. Sadly staff in doctors offices can be sort of immune to hearing a patient's pain. That is their problem and not yours.. and it makes me sad. I had a receptionist once tell me that all I needed to do was take some aleve. She also decided to only give messages to my doctor that SHE felt were important. I went to the head administrator and followed it up with a faxed letter to my doctor. After that I got royal treatment for a bit, but ended up firing that doctor anyway. I know you are nice Coachie, but remember you are the one who deals with this 24/7 -- they really don't understand how much pain you are in and probably won't listen until you get their attention. It is ok to be vocal and express your pain and frustration. Sometimes that is the only way to get taken care of. Get your MEAN on! Kidding but you know what I mean. Don't let them treat you poorly. You are important. Your knee is extremely important!!! How is your pain level today? Are you resting?
