United StatesWith the CPM you have passive motion, and your muscles are being used at all. When you try to do it on your own, you can see how not using those muscles makes a difference.why the big difference between the amount of flexion I can achieve on the CPM vs the amount I can get by sticking my leg out and allowing gravity to work pulling my leg down or doing heel slides.
United StatesUsually, when the right knee is involved, we are told we have to wait until at least six-weeks post op for clearance to drive. Since it is your left knee, however, you will probably be cleared -- as long as you are no longer taking opioids or other heavy-duty pain killers.I see the surgeon Wednesday for a check up. Hoping he releases me to drive although no one ever told me I couldn’t.
United StatesYou need to check with your insurance company. Some won't cover you until your doctor releases you to drive. It's best to be safe rather than sorry!Hoping he releases me to drive although no one ever told me I couldn’t.
If your area is not hot and red, you probably are safe from an infection. Are you icing and elevating enough? Try increasing those to see if the area goes down some.Googling mentions bursitis or possible infection of some kind. It does cause pain when bending.

Yes, you're right. Full recovery can take up to a year for some and even longer for many, so you're doing well!Progress seems slow but it really isn't when I think how far I've come. It's a long road. And I still have a ways to go.

How are you doing? Let us know next time you're here, we'd love to read about your progress.
Hope to hear from you soon!
@Hey Joe
This is a challenge for most of us. As we start to feel better, we think we can do more than the knee is ready for -- and it tell us!I think I overdid it some though with the squats as my knee is more sore this week. It's so hard to know how hard to push it until it complains then I know it was too much

Isn't that always the way?!! That's why the ODIC (over did it club) stays in biz.It's so hard to know how hard to push it until it complains then I know it was too much.
