TKR How often and how far should you walk 3 month post op

A note about walking. At 6 weeks I felt really good so I went on a fairly long walk. Way to far, and I paid with very sore tendons on the lateral side for weeks. It is better now-12 weeks past the TKR. So be very cautious walking too far too soon. I still fatigue easily and need a nap, I also am doing more exercises to strengthen my quads and hips as they are very weak. (I also have had both hips replaced). I have also found as my knee heals I have more hip pain.

this normal? Is there anything I could do to get rid of that tightness (it's really not swollen, just tight)
Tightness is really common and can persist for several months.
I found it disappeared gradually- so that I didn't have it in the morning but it came back as the day wore on. I think it is due to tiny swelling in the joint space that isn't really visible .

Good tip for those following behind!
I still fatigue easily and need a nap,
You're not alone. Our energy supply isn't limitless. So while in healing mode after major surgery
our energy will be used for healing first, not leaving a great reserve for all the other activity of daily life. It is normal to feel tired for quite some time. How long...depends upon your body's rate of healing. Take those naps when you're able. Our body does the best healing while we're sleeping.
I have also found as my knee heals I have more hip pain
Probably due to some favoring as your knee heals. Likely it will ease as your body adjusts to the prosthetic and the soft tissue heals. Thanks for the update, jasper! I hope you have a nice weekend!
