I was a bit concerned on day 5 post-surgery, as the incision looked very jagged and the bruising and swelling were... impressive. However, bandage off on Day 12 - I said "Wow! That looks great!" and the surgeon said "thank you". He's a man of few words...

Wow! Some great photos, thanks for sharing. I’ve not long joined so I’m 7 weeks almost, post dhs surgery with also anti-rotational screw. Broke right nof after a slip on water covered ice!
Attached is my scar. I had my tattoo previous and asked the surgeon if he could just be a little mindful of it . I think he made a perfect job.
@Foxy….Welcome to BoneSmart. Wow, I really had to hunt to find the scar within your tattoo. Good job by your surgeon to not ruin such intricate work. We’d love it if you joined the BoneSmart Insiders Club with one of our membership options so you could start a recovery thread to tell us more about your surgery and recovery. My RTHR (lateral) at Day 7 (41 staples: 39 in the main incision, plus 2 off to the side), and then after staples were removed on Day 13, plus action photo of staple removal.
Lefty's turn to have the staples removed! This hip had 42 staples: 37 in the main incision, and 5 off to the side. Lots of bruising this time as well. When Righty's staples were being removed, I felt tugging only on the last one. This time I had a few more pinchy moments, but the nurse had a great sense of humour and made the time go quickly. I'm so glad to have the staples out and to see that the wound looks good.
