    Aww, Gretel.....I'm sorry.
Probably best you had the extraction though.
I hope the pain eases soon and you're able to sleep.

I saw my physio yesterday. She’s very happy with my walking. She loosened up my thighs (ouch!). We have come away for the weekend. Beautiful weather, we paddled at the beach this morning and swam in the ocean pool this afternoon. Ah this is the life! The man who owns where we are staying had both knees replaced the other day so I’ll be passing on the details of this forum to him.

Thanks yes I feel like I’m getting my life back gradually. It’s a great feeling. I didn’t want to come back from the coast. It was beautiful. We’d love to live near the water. We’re hoping to retire down the coast if we can afford it when hubby retires in about 10 years.
Off out with one of my dogs this afternoon. We’re part of a reading program in which the kids read to the dogs and then she does some tricks with them and gets treats :)

    Hi @Gretel !
Your thread was one of the first I read when I found Bonesmart way back in October. Here we are 5 months down the line and I am cheered by your recovery. I know it has been beyond difficult at times for you but here you are back to having a life and looking for a pain free future!
Loved hearing about your beach weekend and your doggy reading group ( that is so cute)
Best wishes on your 5 month Hippy Birthday!

Well I had a check up with the surgeon this afternoon. He was happy with my hips. He thinks the pain I’m getting in my groin and thighs is related to my back not my hips. I really don’t feel it is.

Are you or he able to arrange an X-ray to see if the issues are caused by your back?

My back has a lot of arthritis. Before surgery I’d been to see a spinal surgeon but he felt my hips were causing more trouble so he recommended getting my hips looked at. The pain I have now is nothing like the pain I had pre op.

So more questions than answers ...that's a bummer.
I'm glad you aren't in horrid pain...
Maybe time will be the healer?
My lower back still bothered me from time to time, I can definitely link it to what I've been doing.
Still need to pursue chiropractor I think. Don't know how screwy my alignment may have gotten pre-op.
Need to recover a bit financially before I can start with that.
Hope you have a Good Day.

It's too bad you're still in pain no matter what the cause. I'm sorry, Gretel.
I hope you find relief soon. A great rest of the week to you! Hugs

Thanks. I’m a lot better than pre op and very glad I got it done. I guess I was hoping it would fix everything but realistically that wasn’t going to happen. I know with exercise and time I will improve :) :-) (:

    Hi Gretel girl.
Hope life is treating you kind.
I've been super swamped with family drama and food bank drama and haven't checked on you for a while.
We made it through a tough change for our bodies, and I'm proud of us.
Hope you are proud of yourself too.

Hi @Mojo333 I'm doing okay thanks. I did another aquarobics class yesterday and did a pretty good job of it if I do say so myself! Not going full pace but not being a slacker either:heehee:
I hope your dramas all settle down soon. I guess life’s not boring....

Sorry to hear of your back pain? Hip? I have some involved back issues too and OS's have told me the surgery should help with my pain as it is referred from the hips. Honestly at this point it it such a pain mess I have no idea and both hips are bad so they have to go first. I am more fearful of spine surgery so not looking to go there.
I love that the water exercise goes well for you.
Hope time heals all for you and you can claim that pain free banner we all want so much.

Thanks @BeBe. Yes the whole hip/back thing seems to go together for many of us. Spinal surgeon told me it was my hips so I went to see about them and that surgeon said spine.... It’s hardly surprising I’m not 100%. But I’m definitely better than I was and I’m very grateful for that! Hubby and I can sleep nights again without being woken multiple times by my pain. I am very fearful of spinal surgery too!
I hope your surgery brings you lots of relief! You’ve not too much longer to wait.
