Misty, that is great news! :spin: I remember your first post so vividly and how you were basically thrown into this recovery. Just because you are released to go to work, remember to pace yourself as you are still healing. But it is truly great news. You've come so far! Congratulations!

Misty that is wonderful news. Congratulations on having all your restrictions lifted. A very liberating day for you! Can't wait to hear about all the great things you get into in the near future.

Misty, I am so sorry, I know that jumping off buildings was on your to do lisi:egypdance:
Great news listen to your body though and adjust your speed as needed

So today was my first day back at work. I worked 4 hours and felt great at the end of my shift. It's now evening and i think my hip is letting me know that it was a little overworked. It's a little sore and warm....thinking some ice is in order:) I have tomorrow off and go back to work on wednesday. Tomorrow is my 6 weeks. Think I'm going to celebrate by being lazy!
Misty

Congrats on a successful first day back at work! Good planning, going for a half day and then several days off. But we knew you were smart.

[Bonesmart.org] First night home I like the idea of celebrating by being lazy---I may make that mandatory once a week at my house.

Congrats on a successful return to work Misty! What do you do? Did you find you missed it while you were out?

I really did miss it! I clean houses for a living. It's hard work but I love it! Plus this time of year our clients are extremely appreciative:) my first day back I came home with $95 in tips and gift cards alone! I'm almost finished with school....I'm trying to save up the money to afford my last two terms. And then I will be an Administrative Medical Assistant:)

Plus it is the perfect time to return to work. I was worried how i was going to be able to pull of Christmas for my kiddos! No worries now:)

Oh Foggy, how I wish you were a bit closer to me. I had a girl come to the house every other week for years. She too was in school and she gave up housecleaning when she graduated. Since then, I haven't replaced her yet. It is hard to find someone you trust in your home, your pets like, etc. I made sure I tipped her well as she was fabulous.

Congrats on being so close to finishing your education. You should be proud of yourself. I am sure that you and your children (and your new hip) will have a wonderful Christmas.

Tammy

Thank you so much Tammy <3 and how I would love to be closer to clean for you! It's not the most glorious job, but I take pride in what I do. Plus, I work with some amazing people! And a wonderful boss who held my job for me for the last two months. I couldn't ask for more. I feel very blessed indeed, and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season too!
Mist

Misty, Congradulations on your return to work, you sound like an amazing woman with all you are working on. You have some pretty lucky kids

Just checking in on everyone to see how you all are doing:) As the holidays approach I wish you all happiness and joy. Hold your loved ones close, don't let a day go by that you don't tell the people you love that you love them <3

Hi Misty, I was just wondering how you're doing. Hope your Christmas was great, and you're not working too hard. Please update from time to time:)

Thank you Sissy:) my christmas was great, I hope yours was as well:) as far as work goes, im beginning to wonder if I'm over doing it. This week will be my 4th week back at work. At the end of last week I was really starting to feel some strain in my operated side. Not my hip, but my thigh muscles are just ticked. I've slept almost all weekend hoping that it would help. Although I feel a little better there is still the muscle in the front of my thigh that just doesnt want to do its job all of a sudden:( I really cant afford to not work so im not sure what to do at this time.

Hi Misty - have you tried massaging or heat on your thigh muscles? You could also call the surgeons office and see if they have any recommendations. Sorry you are having some trouble, but it is good to hear from you! Good luck.

nerdgrrl. Maybe someone else might have a idea. Josephine might know. Tashia

Heat and massage sound good. Maybe you are overdoing it a little. If you can't take time off work, try to do as little as possible when you're not working.

I agree with Sissie - she is right on the money.
