THR Double hippy happy<

Stopping by to say :hi:
I hope you had a nice Christmas and 2020 is off to a great start for you.
Wishing you a Happy New Year and all things good! :)
@SarahUK

Yes...me too @SarahUK
A belated
:merry-xmas-smiley-emoticon:and here's also wishes for a :happy-new-year-smiley-emoticon-4:

Hey @Mojo333 and @Layla , all is well here. Had a quiet christmas and new year.

Hope you both had great days and didn't overdo anything!!
I'm planning on getting back to my walking once the weather improves enough.
New Year, new me :)

As for hips, no complaints, problems or pain to report. Biggest breakthrough is that I can now sleep undisturbed for a good 3 or 4 hours on my right side :D

Hope everyone continues to heal well and with no problems.

Happy New Year to everyone!!

:hi: Hi there...
Thanks for your response, Sarah. It's all good news from you!

The holidays were enjoyable, but for some reason it feels like Christmas was already a month ago when in reality it's only been two weeks.
It's not nice enough to walk outside here either due to the slippery, icy pavement. :groan: But Spring and warmer temps will return soon
That will be wonderful!

Nice hearing from you, Sarah, and I wish you all the best in the New Year!
@SarahUK

 my friend, @SarahUK
Hope all is well with you and your brood!
Today, that bright yellow ball in the sky is supposed to be making an appearance (so much rain here lately:unsure:) and it is FRIDAY!:yes!:

Spring is just around the corner and I can't wait!
Have a wonderful weekend...

Hey @Mojo333

All is certainly well here with my lot. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the garden is calling (more like a jungle at the moment). My hips are doing great, am sleeping on both sides pretty much all the time now with little to no discomfort.

Waiting on an autism assessment for my youngest, it's likely he has some form of autism relating to social aspects as he struggles with social cues etc. My other 3 are all working and it's heaven having the house to myself during the day, peace and quiet reign supreme (and I get housework done!)

Hope everyone is doing ok and are healing well.

Hey @Mojo333 and @Layla

After being so careful about not joining the ODIC for a while, I've landed straight in it!!
Out in the garden today as the weather was soooooo good, I couldn't resist doing a bit.....that was my undoing. Twisted my left knee pretty badly and I pulled about 24 thorns out of my legs and hands....I hate brambles with a vengeance!

Knee is all strapped up and very sore. Hips on the other hand, they're fine, considering I fell at the same time I twisted my knee....

This virus is a nightmare, I've got my hubby at home, my youngest at home as schools are closed until September so having to homeschool him with work sent by school. My eldest is still having to go into work, my 2nd youngest is still having to go into work...they are all following protocol regarding personal space etc and handwashing....it's a worrying time.

I hope everyone here stays well and safe and that this virus goes, sooner rather than later!!

Stay safe everyone!

Sorry to hear you joined the ODIC, happy that your call wasn't worse and that your hips are fine. Those super nice sunny days of spring can really pull us in! :happydance:. Well get you some ice, elevate and take it easy for a while.

Hi, my friend.
I have wrestled with briars before...they always win:nah:and falling into them...oh my stars!!

Keep that poor knee on ice.

Strange times everywhere...every day seems to bring new recommendations.

I fear our food bank will be overrun and I'm following the strictest protocols for food distribution.
Hopefully the whole world gets a handle on this soon.

Oh no, Sarah. I’m sorry you’re hurting. What a way to end your time enjoying your garden and soaking in some sunshine. My grandkids out of school also for possibly the rest of the school year engaging in eLearning from home. My adult children are both still working which is unsettling but there isn’t anything I can do about it other than hope their bosses decide to close for a couple weeks. Unusual and stressful times for sure.

Take good care of that knee. I hope your pain eases soon. Thanks for stopping by, it’s always nice to hear from you.
Stay strong, safe and well. Hugs :friends:
@SarahUK

@SarahUK Oh dear, poor Sarah, 24 thorns - that must be painful. I hope you've recovered from this gardening accident. I like gardening, too and prick myself on rose thorns from time to time.

I'm glad your hip is fine. So is mine. The pandemic is nasty indeed. I'm at home - working from home as a translator, now. My hubby is already retired, so he is the only real-life contact I can have for now. With all the others, I communicate by email and WhatsApp, with my 4 daughters, I communicate in WhatsApp.

Schools here are closed until the end of the Easter holidays (in my state, the German federal state of Hesse, that's 19 April. Did you say schools will be closed in the UK until September? That must be hard. I don't know why schools will be closed only until April in Germany. Maybe it's because in other countries, homeschooling/remote learning is more established. Germany seems to be a bit behind in this respect. The educations ministers of the German federal states have also decided now that Abitur (= equivalent of A levels) will also take place as normal this spring. Take care. I hope the cabin fever won't affect you too much. For me this tends to be a problem, too, but at least I can do gardening and go running and cycling alone. Does the curfew in the UK mean, you're not allowed out at all, not even alone? At least in Germany and other European countries, you can do outdoor exercise alone, with a partner or family living in the same household. Take care - Best wishes - Constanze

@Constanze Always interesting to hear how other parts of the world are dealing with this virus. Here in California in the USA we are restricted to gatherings of less than 10 people and encouraged to have as little social contact as possible with a 6 foot spacing between any body we are in contact with. Still allowed to take the dog for a walk, That's the highlight of my day as I work from home.

@FCBayern , yes, it's interesting how different countries approach the pandemic differently. In Germany, even a gathering of 2 people in public is not allowed, except for people who live in the same household like partners or children. It's also necessary to keep a distance of 6 feet, but walking the dog, gardening, and exercise alone in the fresh air (running, walking, cycling) is allowed.

@Constanze with 5 men in the house, it's driving me insane so gardening is my refuge at this point.

My youngest has finally got the idea that if he does all his schoolwork early on in the day, he gets to relax and play on his pc for the rest of it. My eldest is working from home this week, unfortunately, they want him back in the office next week....not overly happy at their decision. My other half is working from home now until schools re-open. My 2nd youngest is now working from home as he's high risk because of asthma. The one who isn't working is helping me around the house and outside.

Cabin fever is something I'm used to, my early recovery from the RTHR was spent stuck indoors on the sofa and doing slow laps of the living room so that doesn't bother me too much.

We're allowed out for essential trips such as food shopping, walking the dog, exercise etc.
Where I live, people know each other and help out as and when they can all while respecting the guidelines of 6 feet distance etc. Conversations are funny as people are tending to have to raise their voice a bit in the street :D

@Mojo333 and @Layla my knee is doing good, the odd twinge now and then, my own fault more than likely as I'm back in the garden again - weather's too good to stay inside!!

Stay safe everyone!!

Hi @SarahUK
Hope all is well with you and yours...
Such a hard situation for so many, but I grasp on to all the stories of ways people are supporting each other and doing what they can to tamp down this virus...including social distancing.
Hope your Sunday is sweet!

Hey Sarah,
Dropping by to say Hi and offer a belated Happy Anniversary! I see you celebrated a two year and a three year last month. I hope your hips are serving you well and you’re staying sane in the craziness we’re all navigating these days. The days of Summer are waning, but I’m looking forward to the cooler temps and beauty of Fall, my personal fave.
Hope your family is happy and thriving. Y‘all stay safe and stay well!!
@SarahUK

Hey @Layla , Thanks :)

Both hips are doing great, I've ramped up my walking a lot over the last few months and they've given no pain or discomfort.
Staying sane is not the easiest thing to do but walking, working in the garden etc have kept cabin fever at bay.

Hope you're doing well and staying sane!

 my friend....
Glad you are well.
Things have gone on too long with this pandemic to try to figure out what I'll be doing, or how I'll be doing it... Next month, or however long.
Just doing the same as you, day by day... Grateful of good hips, and taking the new day and finding something to rejoice and be glad in it.
Hugsxxxc

Hey @Mojo333 , Yes, things have gone on way too long with it.

Taking things day by day is all we can do for the moment.
I've just been outside and the wind last night has battered my roses and clematis. I'll be going round the roses, de-heading them and trying to rescue what I can.

Stay safe and sane :)

Aaaw... Here's a Sunday flower.
