I'm really hoping that gel will help me too. It feels like the inside of the medial surface of my knee is "skinned"---- remember that fell-down-on-the-playground feeling? It feels like if that gel can penetrate through that layer it could really soothe that "burning" feeling.

I have already written down the specs.... and will check it out.

the topical analgesic properties of the gel should be ideal for you. Let's hope!

I got it yesterday..I've used it on the knee, my right thumb and my left foot. If it gets any better, I'll brush my teeth with it!......Kinda wonder about hemmoroids.just sayin'
My co pay was like Patti's. $50 for three tubes.
I saw on the form though that if I hadn't had insurance, it would have been $396.00...

Yes mam.
Is your's the joint closer to the wrist??
And if it is your left big toe, then we are blood kin.

Howdy cuz....yes, the joint closer to the wrist.....worse than my knees!
NOT big toe....up on foot somewhere between pinkie toe and next toe bonies. It's an owie, though.

A foot massage makes my foot pain go away.....well, a foot massage makes any pain go away!!!!! WOWIE WOWIE ;)

The PA at my OS office has never heard of it... and the most recent PDA (isn't that what it is called?) listed it only for skin stuff... so she wants to research it more before she writes the 'script for it. She is in favor of my trying it--- as long as she is sure it will do me no harm.....

I WANT IT! I will see her and my OS on Friday when they do my 'scope. I expect to get the 'script then.

I wish I had it today... baaaaad knee day. I am limping enough on my "old" knee that it is riling up my new knee too. That plus this dang, damp weather are making me old!

Hey Beach, here's to a good scope and easy heal from it. Do you stay overnight or outpatient?

Beach...my GP hadn't heard of it used for arth. pain. She said it was mainly used for age spots!!!! BUT, she pulled it up on her superduperDRcomputer and wrote it.

YOU MUST remember to ask her to right it for 300 grams. If not, you'll get one tube for a pretty big copay.
(My Dr. wrote it for 100 grams the first time....I called the pharmacy and cancelled it...called the Dr. and told her about the 300 grams....she had no problem doing that.)

Please bear in mind that Voltaren is the form of Dicolfenac Sodium that the FDA
lists for osteoarthritis. Solaraze is Dicolfenac but in a more concentrated form
(works better for us) and was originally used only for skin issues. If your doctor
does not see Solaraze have he or she look up Voltaren to see the specs. It is
a 1% vs. 3% concentration of dicolfenac so you get better strength and can use less of the gel.

thanks-- I gave her the 3% Solaraze information....I am off the oral diclofenac now pre-op. I will follow up with her on Friday.

The scope is for a complex medial meniscus tear. In and out on Friday. I am thinking about staying awake and "watching". Anyone ever do that?

It's on a TV screen..... I've watched 'scopes on video on the internet.... no bone saws, drills, or hammers (that WOULD freak me out). Just little snippers and vacuums, right?

I wonder if Doug watched any of his scopes? Too bad he is gone.....

I can change my mind anytime and they will send me to lala land....

jes' thinkin' 'bout it.....

I've had a scope...was glad to be in lah lah land.
Girl, you don't want to see tubes and cameras running in and out of your kneesals!!!...and the smell of cauterized booboos??? ICK!!!

Oh c'mon! It's no worse than momma watching her sprog delivered by Caesarian section!

I had two SPROG delivered by c-secton - it won't purty???.....cutting - pulling - cauterizing...pulling my tummy down to my knees and up to my chest - squigglies flying around....juicy drips.........ain't sumthin worth watchin'!!!!

hmmmm... ok... you've got me reconsidering....

I was ok with the tubes and cameras... ok with the snippers and vacuum.... but the smell of cauterized booboos....ugh

I did the c-section thing too... no problem there by the time they FINALLY got around to doing it---- other than trying to "curl up real small" around a baby the size of inflated beach ball... I don't remember the flying squiggles and drips..."just get it out NOW!"

Did I mention I only have one child? On second thought maybe it WAS a big deal....

Sprogging in the usual and customary way has its, ah, let's just say goop and gop and smell as well.
