Revision THR Continuing left hip pain

@ebair23 I hope this injection provides not only relief, but identifies the issue that is going on with your hip. Did they say by doing this injection what they are looking for? (ie: if it provides relief, then the issue is "this", or if it doesn't provide much relief, then "this and that" can be ruled out?).

New day new issue. Hahaha! At this point I am laughing at it all. To add to my groin pain, I am now having deep severe throbbing in my outside of my hip and my way lower back. Awesome. Who needs beauty sleep?! Not this gal. injection coming up, I get to add this new stuff to my chart.

I'm hoping it's all related and the injection works wonders! Fingers crossed!

Good Morning
I'm sorry you continue to struggle with issues @ebair23
I hope you soon find some relief through the injection.
Wishing you comfort and brighter days. :console2:

Ok, new update. :)
Yesterday I went to my appt. with pain management. I had my initial monthly appt and then a hip flexor injection. No change yet, other than being sore from the needle. We will see I suppose. I also told the dr about the recurring pain in my right hip. Feels like it did when i had a torn labrum. He scheduled me for in injection for next month. so, that is where I am now.

Hi @ebair23 Thanks for the update.
I hope the injection kicks in soon bringing you the relief you deserve.
Please keep us posted...Hugs :console2:

Hoping for relief soon! Did you have any (very) temporary relief right after the injection? With the injection into the hip flexor tendon I had about 30-45 minutes (unfortunately most spent driving to work) after mine. It gave me some hope!

@SaraK, I didn't find any relief yet. I am hoping for it to possibly kick in soon. Trying to keep a good attitude toward it. :)

:fingersx: Wishing you comfort as you wait for relief :bored:
I hope you have a nice weekend.
@ebair23

Well, it' the next Thursday an no change. I called the dr Monday and he said it could take up to 10 days for the steroid works. Well, I'm at 9. Do I call them again tomorrow if it doesn't kick in? Do I wait for my next appt later this month? i am at a loss.

I really feel for you. My recovery hasn't gone as planned and my pain levels are unbearable. I think it is the not knowing what to expect and /or do when recovering. We have no idea what pain we can expect to have and what is deemed 'not usual'. I hope your injection gives you some relief.

@ebair23 how much later this month is your appointment? If it's next week, then sure, maybe wait. If it's three weeks away, then, no. I'd give them a call at the beginning of the week. That being said, I know nothing about the shots so maybe I'm too impatient.

While I was told it could take 10 for full effect, I was told I should have some benefit before then (i.e., it wasn't like a magic switch would suddenly turn on the pain relief). I agree with @SarahBee that I would go ahead and call if your appointment isn't real soon. Even if it is next week, the doctor having that information before the appt could let the doc think about next steps before you get there. Is there a portal for communication? I've had good results with those (if the doctor monitors it) because you can leave more information and questions (and maybe get an answer back before your appt) than if you call and talk to a receptionist or asst.

Thank you! Actually, I send a message thru the portal this morning. We will see I suppose.

If they did the injection at the correct spot, then you should have some "immediate" relief. When they did my injection at the tip of the screw, I had almost immediate relief. Although it wasn't long lived (I think about 3 days if I remember), that proved that they were in the right spot and identified the problem.

If you haven't had an MRI or CT scan, I would really push to get one of those done - esp. since you are going to contact your doctor's office.... Maybe they can get one of them approved and done before your next appointment???

Well, no change. They bumped my follow up to this coming Tuesday. Talking about options then.

Best of luck @ebair23
Let us know how it goes on Tuesday. We're rooting for you.
Wishing you comfort and resolution.

Ok, had an appt yesterday. At this one they straight up told me they don’t know. And are reaching for straws anymore. He prescribed me prednisone and physical therapy. I am calling and seeing what else I may do. The physical therapy last time made me unbearable. Anyway, back to not feeling like I have a light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm sorry :console2:
I don't even know what to say other than I hope you don't give up on trying to find an answer through someone who will listen.
Wishing you peace and comfort.
