Hello!

I’m currently interviewing 2-3 orthopedic surgeons to determine which one I would like to use for total knee replacement.

One particular surgeon supports Conformis (custom implants developed specifically for each patients knee) and I wanted to find out if anyone has used Conformis for their individual knee replacement surgery.

If so, what was your experience like? Are you happy you chose this method and if so, why?

As you know, choosing the correct surgeon and the correct type implant is a very important decision and I’m looking for guidance from those that have already gone through this process.

Thanks very much for your honest feedback!

Welcome to BoneSmart, @Mountainman.

Glad to read you are interviewing several surgeons before deciding who will perform your TKR.

Here at BoneSmart, we believe that it is the choice of surgeon that is MOST important. There are many, many successful knee replacements completed each year with different implants. And, there are many factors that the surgeon takes into consideration when choosing the implant that is right for each patient, so we strongly recommend letting the surgeon chose the implant: Choosing a surgeon and a prosthesis

I will share some additional articles from BoneSmart's helpful pre-operative guide that I'm sure you will find helpful as you prepare for surgery.
