THR Cisne on the other side

I had success bright after my morning walk! I had a shot of MOM just before I went to bed last nite. I am thinking I will do that again. How is the hip today?

Doing well! Getting a better sense of range of motion. Lots of resting. You?

@Josephine Quick ?: im 4 days post op and for the past couple days I've had a low-grade temp: 99.5. Also , my op leg is hot. Last night I started getting chills and slightly nauseous . Should I be worried?
Thanks,
Michele :)

@Cisne it's not unusual to have a low grade temperature post op. But your other symptoms are a bit worrying. Have you iced your op leg? I would call your surgeon's office just in case.

I agree with Jaycey.
No harm to give the surgeons office a call.
Even for your own peace of mind.
Joe.......

@Jaycey and @Irish Joe Thanks so much for your reply. I talked to the nurse at my surgeons office. I'm to call back if it gets higher. She reminded me to ice and to do deep breathing.

Always better to be safe than sorry so be sure to call again if things don't improve or if they get worse. Wishing you the best with your recovery!

Hi @Kimmer and @dougie0216 ! I actually got good sleep last night! What a difference that makes! I reintroduced the hydrocodone (1/2 dose) at bedtime and that seems to make all the difference. My surgeon has everyone take tramadol, melixacam, and aspirin by schedule. I hate to take anything, so I was trying to avoid the optional hydrocodone. I guess I should remember my Dr has way more experience w this than I do. Went to lunch w two fellow teachers yesterday. It was wonderful to get out of the house, but exhausting too! Looking forward to hear how the two of you are doing!

Too much talk on this thread about reducing medication! Folks you are just days out of major surgery. You need your medication around the clock as prescribed in order to increase your mobility. You will not get addicted to your meds. What happens is you start forgetting doses - usually starting with the midday dose. That is the sign you can decrease. Please don't try this before as it will only set you back.

Hi @Jaycey ! I have a question: I am unable to put full weight on my op side without pain. If I take a full hydrocodone it help significantly, but I feel loopy. Do I take the med? Also, should I be feeling pain on weight bearing? Thanks so much!

@Cisne part of the reason for taking your meds is that they do slow you down. If you take your meds as prescribed often the body adjusts to them and that "loopy" feeling eases. In any case, you are only 7 days out of surgery. Take your meds, rest and ice as much as possible. The pain you are feeling is post op pain. Meds will help as will time and patience.

How's Michele today. I'm taking pills as prescribed and I'm having a much better day. Coincidence?

Hey Dougie! Having a good day here too. I think adding in that extra med has helped lots. I do seem to have an up day following a down day, so we will see what tomorrow brings. PT again in the morning. I went to the grocery this morning with a friend. First time driving the little cart. Didn't run anyone over!

Hmmm.... I see a trend here! Well done both. Take those meds as prescribed to get your mobility back. You will soon start forgetting them. Onward and upward!

Hi Michele, I am good thank you for asking. Had a nice walk this am, PT at four. Have fun today. Feeling better?
