TKR Chinook in recovery

I have a quick update and had a scan and all clear but the knee is so red and hot at the side. I have been doing all I am suppose to do. The physio would not touch it she said she did not like the look of it and called my GP. I am sorry I am not feeling too good and need to go rest and ice and elevate. Hi Fernie, I seem to have lost you to. It is so sad the alerts are not working. Sorry you have been over doing things a bit I know I tend to do that to. Naughty but so easy and when I have not got pain I tend to not think as I should and have to pull my boots up and look after my knee more.

Glad you are having some lovely spring weather. I cannot wait for Autumn my favourite time of the year. I am off to bed soon. Take it easy and hope we can catch up better soon N night night

Happy to hear from you. I am doing ok maybe a bit too much but I only have myself to blame. Resting and icing and doing exercises gently of course. Hope you are taking good care of yourself. Hope you are having some good weather to.

You have had 4 DVT'S? Why have they not put a Greenfield filter in you? I would be asking about that if it was me...could save your life. Just a thought. Hope everything is getting better, and you can move forward. It sure is a long road, huh?

Hi chinook, I think my alerts are ok, but to be honest, I just check through the threads and I know the names of those I follow daily ! I think they are working on tetchy things at mo.don't forget, you can always tag people and those alerts always show.

Good to hear from you hope that infection is taken care of quickly. My journey is going okay....just the usual complaints like you hear from the children in the back of the car when you are travelling...more about personal comfort than anything that 'needs' attention.
Like you I hope we get some stability in the weather here soon...though I have noticed the last few morning that slight chill in the air that heralds in the season changing...bring it on . Hope you have a restful night

I am in In Perth Australia and I have a MedicAlert bracelet and a card in my wallet. Things are improving and yes a long road. Nice to meet you and thank you for your kind reply.

I am glad you have the ID card/bracelet! A Greenfield filter is commonly placed in people who have had at least 2 DVTs here..guess not all countries practice medicine the same. But just put in the back of your mind to ask about someday. It can be a life saver. (Basically it "catches" the clot if it breaks free from your leg, heading to your lungs.

Hi Fernie,

I am feeling much better now thank you. They decided I needed my uti to be checked out and now kidney infection so in hospital for a few days. I am feeling better and he said they will check on me over the weekend and may be discharged Monday. My OS is very happy with my knee and I am walking well without support most of the time but i keep my walker handy. My pain is much better and mostly just stiffness if i have been sitting too long.

Very sorry to hear about your UTI and hospitalization and sorry I have missed your post. But I am happy to hear you will be returning home soon.

Dear Chinook, sorry to hear about your UTI and kidney infection. That is really miserable for you. I am glad they have got you into hospital and are looking after you well. Sounds like you are on the mend, I do hope so.
You are doing brilliantly with your knee, sounds like it is making amazing progress.
Take it gently and take very good care of yourself. I hope you get the all clear to go home but only if you are really well.
