Bilateral THR Both Sides NOW!

Yearly update -- 13 years ago was the date of my bilateral hip replacements .... and they are still going strong! As I've said before I rarely think about having artificial hips because they feel and function just like original equipment. And having pain free hips after being in pain for years (thankfully a fading memory now) is truly a blessing.

Again and still thanks to the BoneSmart community for the wonderful information and support. You all made the journey through hip replacement ( and shoulder replacements) understandable and possible.

And now it's 14 years since the life changing BTHR! And they still are doing beautifully! We haven't been seeing many BTHRs here recently but to anyone who has 2 failing hips do consider having both done at once. Find a terrific surgeon who will at least consider this option and if all medical, procedural, insurance, etc considerations are in alignment ... go for it!

While this thread is old and my journey through hip replacements is now just a memory I hope it may give some others a glimpse of what the process is all about. BoneSmart was - and continues to be - a major source of information, inspiration, and support through all of my joint replacements.

Blessings to you all :loveshwr:
