@Jaycey, ok, ok, we get it! Your fabulous body is doing it's thing but not on your time schedule, eh? Guess who's going to win?? :rotfl:

Please be patient and kind with yourself and allow the time to pass without incident! You dole out such wise advice and counsel to everyone else here on BS, please reread some of it when you start feeling jerky! Hang in there!
:yahoo:

Right - so I am officially bored with all this recovery stuff. Enough already! Tired of not being totally mobile, having to watch every step and generally not being able to live life. Everything seems a struggle. Hmmm …. think it's the one month slump!

I am so proud of you and your recovery thus far Jaycey - you are a star!

Driving, shopping, laundry, packing, getting prepared for the big move...

Sending many hugs and much love from down under xx

Wow @Jaycey ! You had a second hip done! Congrats! I haven't been here much lately - but I noticed your thread and wanted to say hi! Sounds like everything is going well - enjoy that new hip!

Yes @Chessie , number 2 and thank goodness there are no more to replace - well knees but let's not even go there! :heehee:

Sorry I have been away from the forum for the last few days. Busy, busy, busy - moving house. I supervised the loading of it all and yesterday's complete cleaning of the house we are leaving. I am delighted to report that my hip cooperated. I was sore after the moving day - nerves I am sure played a part. But yesterday I was moving around very well and actually had the energy in the afternoon for a walk. I am seeing more and more strength in my op leg as well as greater flexibility.

I am also finally done with the dreaded daily injections of blood thinners. I really think those drugs slow me down as I seem to struggle with anything remotely cardiovascular when I am taking them.

Started sleeping on the non-op side (with a pillow of course) and slept through until 7AM today (pretty good for me)! I am taking most of the day off from moving activity to see friends and have a bit of lunch before my long drive to the new house tomorrow.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Have a relaxing Sunday @Jaycey - enjoy socializing and have a very safe drive. xx

Jaycey, so glad to hear things are going so well! I know you'll feel much better one you're in the new house and everything's in its place! Hope you had a lovely visit with your friends.

Wow @Jaycey - That's gotta be a little/lot stressful to move in the midst of hip-cation. Hope all went well!!! Good thing you just supervised!!

Happy to hear your hip cooperated with the move. Take it easy on the unpacking. I think packing and unpacking are the worse part of moving. All good stuff. :yay:

Glad things are going your way! Good move and great hips! Way to go!

Well, you are at your new home now-- welcome! I am wondering just how far you had to drive... but it sounds like your hip is up to any darn thing you throw at it!! Yahooooooo!! :)

My phone sent this using BoneSmart Forum, clever phone!

Hi Jaycey!

Wow, I am totally late to the party but welcome to the other side with your brand new shiny second hip!! I just read thru your thread and couldn't help but think it might have been a mistake for you to have been left home alone in those early weeks -- you were wildly active for a brand new hip!!!! At two weeks I was still trash.

I'm glad that you are coming along well and listening to your hip when it shouts out at you! You'll certainly be busy with the new house and getting situated. So sorry to hear about the loss of your precious Ben and Jerry, both. I hope you'll get another pair of cats when the time is right! :kittykiss:

Glad you found the forum… remember that mantra about slow and steady, would ya!!

Take care,
Cardie

Wow, @Jaycey ... I turn my head for one minute and you are driving! I'm sorry I missed that. That's wonderful and must be a great boost to your spirits. How are you feeling? How's the back? Take care . You're in the home stretch, well, one of the home stretches. You know what I mean. It's good to read how well you are doing. Thanks for all of your helpful postings.

Sorry I have been out of action on the forum for a few days. Moving house is a big deal. Moving house with a new hip is huge. Sure I was totally tired many days in a row. But I have to say that the more active I got the better my hip felt.

I am still sticking to my restrictions - for the most part. Using golfers reach to bend. But I can put shoes and socks on and only use a cane when I am very tired. My right side is still much weaker than the left so I still have a slight limp. But I really feel I am on my way. Driving for 6 hours (many stops and some slow traffic) was no problem - just downright boring.

My back - well that's another story. But I am a happy camper!

Six weeks out today and all is well. I am back to working almost full time from home. I get up often to avoid the stiffness that comes with too much sitting. Not really that restricted anymore but still notice a very slight limp and I am sure things are still settling in my lower back. All in all I feel very lucky!

Wonderful update @Jaycey, exactly what I was hoping to read..I am so, so happy for you xxx

Moving is never fun, but fabulous once done! Congrats on getting through it! So fantastic to hear that you've made such super progress in your recovery!
