Richard you are SUCH a fitbod! Cycing all those miles & thinking about doing even more. Very well done. Hope you get some time in your caravan soon. We are off to France at the end of May, back July 1st .... lucky us.

Just over a year now since tkr.We are finally away in caravan near Hastings 1066 country sat in middle of a big field solar panel for power ,a tap for water and elsan emptying point what more do i need.I have walked last 2 days over fields and through woods today i was walking for 4 hours and my knee never spoke once other niggled a bit but so what its turn will come.I must say i am pleased with myself before tkr for last few years this would have not been possible, looks like it will be a good summer, grand kids coming at week end so i will be in tent should be no bother getting down to airbed now,got some rope so we can go in woods and make a swing and climb trees with them.To all out there waiting or recovering can truthfully say it is worth having done.

Great report Richard! :thumb: Enjoy your new life kiddo, and don't fall out of any trees please, we have other body parts that don't like pain!

Yes, you are doing great, Richard. That's very good to hear. I agree with Jackie, no falling out of trees, you young whipper snapper, you :heehee:

Hi Richard, thanks for the awesome report.
Gives those of us who are waiting hope.
Hope you enjoy the rest of summer, and grand kids.
Take care...

Hi to everyone still away in caravan, walked up over Seven Sisters and across to Beachey Head this is famous for people jumping off of,right knee troubling a bit but not enough to throw myself over cliff, left FINE wife and i still amazed at how far i can walk now.I have been swimming in sea, biking over south downs, and having great time with grand kids they knock years off me we have swum, rode bikes, and climbed a lot of trees. So to all thinking of having tkr i say again yes it works but i recomend having it done at start of autmn or winter so you are nearly ready for summer when i have right tkr not if it will be then .Managed to get wifi working still on no electric only battery power thinking of heading home after trip to new forest area about end of september best summer we british had for years, nnot seen any rain for about 6 weeks now hope you are all having same a good summer bye for now .

Brilliant upbeat post Richard. Isnt this summer brilliant. We have actually bought a tourer again after selling out static caravan last year. We miss getting away for weekend. Static was in Norfolk which was a long treck so we are going to stick to Angelsey this time. Its a pleasure to walk and enjoy life again isnt it. Who would have thought a new knee could make that much difference. Have a lovely summer whats left of it with your wife and grandkids. You deserve it

Hi everyone thought i would look in before going away for summer, holidays start on 8 July after Tour has left yorkshire.Just over 2 years now on Saturday we had a walk of 2 hours Sunday we went out 4 hour walk 2 out 2 back,we do not count miles just enjoy walk, and today i have just got back from 50 mile bike ride.Could i have done this 2 years ago walk definatley not 30 minutes was best bike ride yes because i am sat down not a lot of pressure on knee. Not only is retirement great no clock watching do what we want but best of we have a better life now yes its been hard and painful at times still is now and then but my knee works ,Thank you Mr Tadros Doncaster DRI.I wish every one much success do not give up light at end of tunnel and ex miners know about tunnels.

Great two year report, Richard. Good to hear how you are doing. Wow, am impressed with your walks, that's great.

50 mile bike ride! That is some distance. Enjoy your T de F weekend Richard (Sheffield has taken on a yellow hue!) & then your following holiday. (Do you do Facebook?)
