Hi @Mudhen Happy Friday to you!
Sounds like a nerve issue but let's ask the medical professional because, that, I am not.
Possibly @Josephine has heard of this and can enlighten us and advise you.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Yes, I would think it to be some kind of nerve issue. Have you discussed it with your doctor?

No I have not discussed not with Didthe doctor. I did not think of it. Never thought about it even having anything to do with a nerve!
    Thank you.

I have started back to walking. Hope to walk 2.4 miles daily. But I get so stiff I can only walk with the cane if I sit to rest period. How do I prevent or break this stiffness. As long as I am on my feet I am ok ,sit down for any length of time and though comfortable it is difficult to get up.
I cannot work 8 hours without a break!!

I spend a lot of time at work on the computer..and sit far too much! I do glute squeezes and sitting calf stretches before I get up from my desk and, when standing, stand up as straight as I can and pull my stomach in and really feel the stretch through my back. I start with small steps and then increase the stride as the stiffness wears off. Only last month I was having a lot trouble with stiffness but this has really helped and it is getting easier. I also stretch when I get out of my car as usually spend 45 mins to 1 hour in traffic in the mornings.

    Thank you SurreyGirl !
I only sit to rest but still I will try your suggestions. I have been tightening my muscles and standing straight as I have been finding myself slumping. Also started taking calcium again. I have to stand when I first get out of my chair!!
I have not been stretching so will add that to my regimen.
Climbing stairs has been frequent in my work....

Eight hours straight? What is it dear, Mudhen, that you're trying to do for 8 hrs straight?
I think in our sixties we can be stiff after sitting for prolonged periods of time. I've noticed it in friends of mine who still have their natural hips. Sadly, were not Spring chickens anymore. :tantrum:

I hope you are experiencing a lovely sunny day in MO. We're windy but warm enough in my neck of the woods today. Snow coming in two days though. Can't even believe it!

    Have a good one!

Layla , it is a beautiful day here...there is an old saying....make hay while the sun shines... I am prayerfully hoping to sell this place! It is beautiful because of sweat equity. But the barn is an eyesore, but in a compelling way charming, in a true way terribly dangerous. Ever since I bought the place I have worked on that barn, except last year. Yesterday I started again..it has to be emptied ( not my stuff, but of the two families before me). The new roof put on by the last family is the ruination of the whole barn. There are century old items in the barn and they must be protected before they ruin. But I got about half of the items out of the loft yesterday...
My yardman mowed and helped me for a short time. He is going to bring a trailer.
But anyway I walked a mile yesterday before starting in the barn.
This is a needy place to be kept nice...maybe I can retire if I sell....

Thank you Layla, you guessed right!
I do believe winter is over, at least everyone hopes so!
Dogwood in full bloom, peach trees loaded with peaches.
Gardens planted, my yardman mowed today for the second time!
    Hope your weather is warm too, have a great weekend!!;

Dogwood, peaches and fresh mown grass. Aaah! I smell Spring in the air.
It's not that far along here yet, but we're working on it.
    Hugs :)

I am back to driving long distance .
With those dreadful UTIs and the fevers that went with them are past I think complete healing is on the way. Also walking 7- 10 miles a week, not counting steps at home, is returning strength and whole body health.
Mojo this has been a glorious riot of color from redbuds, dogwoods and lilacs. Wishing all a beautiful spring weekend!

    Hi @Mudhen
Just stopping by to say :hi:
It seems you're doing so much better. I hope you had a nice weekend.
I imagine you outside getting into all kinds of trouble everyday. :heehee:
Hopefully you're staying safe and enjoying the Spring so far.

Aw , Layla, you know me only too well! I go for my morning walks...2.4 miles gradual to steep downhill going, the climb on the way back. My delightful Irish Terrier pup goes with me.
Spring has sprung and we are easing out of black berry winter now. So much rain!!!
85% of the time I walk ok, infrequently with the cane and sometimes I can not walk at all.
But it is a beautiful sunny day and I will do the best I can each day. Ice is still an excellent close friend

    Thank you Mojo333 ..
Not much I can do to help and assure others as I know so little and my own was an accidental.

It is nice to have a companion at home and on my walks. She does love those walks! Sigh, I now have a Collie pup that was pawned off on me... They do not like each other.........
