Aww...try not to freak yourself out, KPup. Most of the things you worry may happen, likely never will.
I think you're probably correct in assuming it's due to inflammation, which is common after surgery. When swelling occurs, you're more likely to have symptoms of pain around the knee and surrounding areas like the shin.
Consider checking in with your surgeon's care team, if you haven't already. Hopefully they will offer you the reassurance you're seeking. It will be worth the peace of mind. I hope you have a good week. @KPup
How are you doing, @KPup ?
I hope the shin pain was due to something simple like an increase in activity. Don’t know if you do activity tracking and maybe it coincides with increased step count? At 3 months I still have a bruised feeling at top of shin. I was thinking recently about how my root canal hurt for 7 months and finally stopped…and recall the dentists saying there was a lot of inflammation (but no sign of infection) and the bone and other tissues could hurt a long time after. It seems my knee is set to follow that same path!
Hi KPup,
Stopping by to wish you a Happy Two Month Anniversary!
How are you doing since you last posted? Hopefully the bone pain has eased or you talked to your surgeons office and received some reassurance. Crazy busy week for many, but hopefully you'll let us know how you're doing as time allows. A very Merry Christmas to you! @KPup
