I know and I so wish I could help but PT isn't really my strong suit. Have you been to see a chiropractor? Mine sorted out my PS for me but then, it was only a few weeks old at the time. Be worth a try though?

That seems to be the recommendation so far and I have a very good and strong Chiro and he works wonders, just haven't been for past year so I guess it's time to get there.

Hi Julie-reading up on your thread.

I have the piriformis issues as well post RTHR. As of lately its calmed down since I cut back on the exercise that was aggravating it but sometimes its there with a little bit of nagging.

I know when I had Sciatica(caused by back issues) before my THRs it was way worse for me than the sciatic nerve being irritated by the Piriformis.

Please let me know if you see your Chiro and how it went.

Julie, if you have a good chiro go for it! They are hard to find but if they know their stuff you can get things under control very quickly. Good luck! Let us know how you get on.

Hope you are able to get that pain taken care of soon. You deserve a break :yes 4:

It's been awhile I know....life has just gotten in the way. I've had some things going on in the family and then just the normal life of work and dealing with things.

I still have the daily butt pain. I went to OS today and he feels it's not hip related at all and reviewed my EMG info and agrees that it's lumbar area. All I know is my butt area of bone has chronic daily irritation into the back of hamstring. I am scheduled for next Wednesday to have a Epidural Steroid Injection. He wants to see how I do after that and I'm ready for some sort of relief.

I will also have a repeat MRI of right knee prior on that day. Both knees hurt daily and they are hurting in the backside of the leg. He said after again reviewing prior MRI that most of the AVN is on the back side which usually doesn't occur. He said since the right MRI was 10 months ago, he can get that one approved for a repeat and see where it's at. Might be scheduling the knees sooner than I had wanted to.

Will let you all know how it goes after next weeks injection and then results following week of MRI and where we go next. :sigh:

Hi Julie,

Nice to hear from you. Do you think they will offer to replace your knees this year or will you have to wait for these next tests?

sending you good thoughts.

xxooxx

It sure does Jo... I'll let you know how the Epidural injection goes. Hopefully it does the trick. Sarah, I'll probably be scheduling soon for the knees. I'm trying to get in hopefully mid May for them if possible. We'll see how the newest MRI looks when I go back to him on the 29th.

I'll just be glad to get it all behind me one day and not having so much $$ being spent each year. :hairpulling:

Thinking of you, Julie, and hoping that you find some relief soon! I hope the shot works and that you can get your knees done soon. :friends:

Thanks Cappy and Donna, I sure do hope the injection gives some relief. I feel if I can get that relief everything else won't feel so bad. I'm sure the knees are around the corner, but that's o.k. I want to get this all behind me and move on with life.

Thanks for your support !!

hope you feel better soon julie i know how you feel. i had my first thr 4 months ago and it went very well, however i had my second thr 14th march and it's awful i am in so much pain and my leg is very swollen from top to toe,i am very upset about eveything it's different this time, i have had a catheter and two blood transfusions which i didn't have the last time.i guess we will just have to bite the bullet and hope it gets better soon x x

It will get better, I promise. Both are really so different. LIke you I had transfusion with second and more difficulties.

I had the Epidural Steroid Lumbar Injection yesterday and I know it will take a few days for it to start taking effect, but I can tell I'm getting some relief already. I will be pleased to see how the next few days go. It was hard yesterday to put weight on the leg but I'm doing better today with it.

Julie it can take up to 10 days before you see results from the injection. Sure hope it works for you! Take things slow for a bit. I found the results showed very gradually. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the heads up Jaycey, I won't get discouraged this way. I took it easy pretty much of today because it was starting to get aggravated again.

Yes it's not an "overnight you're cured" kind of procedure. Very slow buildup I found. Please take it easy for a few days. That's still a major procedure and you might need a bit of down time (says the person who did not follow those instructions).

Oh bless you - it really grinds you down, all this, doesn't it?

Hello julie

I can't agree more with Josephine's comment

I do hope you get some relief soon.

I have been in and out of this forum lately due to a family medical issue but have been thinking of you (and others in the same rather difficult boat)

Take Care

Dave

I hope your pain relief kicks in soon. Hang in there, Julie :friends:
