THR 2nd Hip Done! Time to enjoy life!

I think since I have gone back to work my recovery has gone backwards. Before returning I was exercising quite a bit - walking, exercise bike, the standard hip calisthenics most of us are given to do. Now I spend too much time sitting on my hip and not exercising it! I just took a walk around my neighborhood - the same path I was taking before with no problem. Now I can feel it! Even though I swim three mornings a week and use the exercise bike several evenings a week plus PT two days a week. I guess it's not enough.

Does your back hurt after a while? I am noticing lower back pain with and even without the use of the cane?

At first my lower back did hurt but when I mentioned it at PT they gave me an exercise that totally cleared it up. They have me stand on the stair step things sideways while holding on to something for stability. If my left foot is on the edge, my right foot is off the stepper. Than I raise the right foot up as high as I can then lower it below the steps. They had me repeat these about 15 times on each side, slowly. It really did a lot to strengthen the lower back muscles. Now they have added weights to my ankle and I do about 20 on each side.
I love it when I can tell something makes a difference!
