Thank you for the welcome, @bottomshallow. I had my first day of physical therapy today and I'm already getting conflicting messages about my exercises and how I should be sleeping. I assume that this is just par for the course?

So my doctor said would possibly need a full tnr, if my knee is not in shape for a partial, not sure I can afford that much time off from work, thoughts? Should I tell him no??

Hi! I'm having all kinds of trouble finding how to change some errors in my profile. Birthday and gender! How do I do that?

@mwetzel394
I think you are under some misapprehension.

While some surgeons do say that it is quicker to recover from PKR than from a TKR, it actually takes just as long to recover from a partial as a total knee replacement.
You see, even with a partial you still have to have the ends cut off two large bones and have large metal objects hammered and cemented into them.
Knee replacement surgery types and suggested videos

For both a PKR and a TKR, we recommend 12 weeks and then a Phased return to work

Whether the internal knee ligaments are saved or not makes no difference to the length of your recovery. The implant itself compensates if the ligaments have to be removed.

Just joined, having Bilateral TKR on Nov 22,16. Have already had pre op & class.
Looking into getting the gear for post op,
Any suggestions

I'm having my left total knee replacement on November 28th. I had my right knee replaced in April, 2016. Dreading the pain, therapy, and all the discomforts that go along with it, but also looking forward to not a recovery tha till take the pain away.

TKR November 16! I've had my fair share of knee surgeries but this one makes me nervous.

Good luck to all my fellow November Nimbles still to have surgery and those in recovery. We can do this! :friends:

Hello, I'm having a right TKR on 30th November over here in the UK and absolutely terrified! The last two years have been a painful struggle and I know that it will change my life for the better but I'm worried about how I will manage at home after leaving hospital and scared of the pain.

Go go girl, you'll be fine I go in tomorrow at 930 am stateside
