Ok, I was a July Firecracker with RTKR, and now will be an October Feisty with LTKR on October 1st. Looks like I am in a great group!

Welcome @Slainte! You too can be a feisty! It also sounds like you are a TKR pro already. Looking forward to what you can teach us and to supporting everyone.

Oh, yes, @Crappy knees . I am 5 weeks yesterday on my RTKR and have had a ridiculously easy recovery. Makes me very nervous when I read that no two knees are alike. I want my left to be exactly like my right! The secrets of my success include taking all prescribed pain meds on time whether I need them or not, keeping my knee up and iced practically all the time, being a total slacker about physical therapy, and sleeping for the first three weeks whenever I felt like it. I also drink copious amounts of water and eat fresh and healthy food with no added salt. I think that really helped with the swelling. We shall see if it was a fluke or if my left knee will respond as well as its next leg neighbor.

I "followed" all my co-July surgery buddies, and I am going to follow all my Feisty friends as well. I learned so many tips and tricks to make life easier. Looking forward to sharing success and obstacles with all of you.

@Slainte So interesting about the salt and swelling. I had recent surgery on my face near my eye for skin cancer. It is barely noticeable anymore unless I eat sushi and the next morning my entire eye is filled with fluid. We don't cook with salt in the house and I am sure it helped your recovery by avoiding it. I am going to refer back to your words of wisdom frequently!

Hi all! Scheduled for r tkr October 26th. A bit scared. I too own my own business and have been preparing my staff for my absence all year. They are great...it's still a bit overwhelming. Thankful we have each other for support!

Hi @Slainte,

Good on you, so glad to hear you're having an easy time of it. I hope your left knee is the same as the right! I intend to follow the same recovery plan as you, so here's hoping for a smooth recovery for all of us. I think the Bonesmarties that came before us got it right with Rest, Ice, Elevate, Take Your Meds, Repeat!

Here we go. Add me to the list. I am having my right knee replaced on Oct 21.

I am scheduled for a RPKR revision to a RTKR on 19 October.

@DUTCH

I am scheduled for a revision from a pkr to tkr in October as well. How long did your partial last?

A little over three years, but there were very specific medical reasons for its failure. Probably best discussed in a separate thread.
