I hope this is the right way/place to post. I have a surgery date of December 14th. Undecided on which hip to do first. The surgeon would not do both at the same time. I am still hiking 14ers and cycling 30 to 70 at a time but the pain is impacting my endurance more and more. I've appreciated reading about other people's experiences.

Thank you abusby. I couldn't find a surgeon who would do both hips at the same time. I would love to be able to have both done at the same time but every one I talked to said no. I'm excited to get on with my life as I'm sure you are!

Hi all I'm a 48yr old woman and having DHS removal and Total Hip Replacement on the 9th December 2015. I broke my hip 8yrs ago and it was repaired successfully, last 2 yrs it's become painful and continually locks up.. Looking forward to being able to walk without pain.

Hello to everyone on here!
Found out in August I needed right hip replacement,
When surgeon took a look at x Rays he said on a scale of 1 to10, 10 being really bad he scored mine 11!
At least He seemed excited and impressed with what he was looking at.
After going home and feeling pretty shattered about the news he had given me I thankfully found this forum and have been avidly visiting most nights since.
After being assured I would get the new hip before Xmas I finally got the date for surgery as 19th December.
Luckily got a phone call last week saying there had been a cancellation and they could do it on the 7th instead.
Got a pre op assessment on 19th November so fingers crossed if all goes well will have a new hip for Xmas with 2 weeks recovery to spare.
Good luck to everyone on here who are due for their ops, and everyone already in recovery!
Looking forward to keep reading about everyone's journey, uplifting stories and great advice.
