Sorry, the Cowboys are my true love...... (yep sometimes it is embarrassing the way they play...) :th_heehee:

Well like the band Meatloaf sang, "two out of three ain't bad." :sigh:

Our son's HS football team won their playoff game on Sat. They play again next Sat. Kid had a great game, scored a TD on a pass reception, got a QB sack on defense, and overall he played very well.:yay:

The GB Packers beat the MN Vikings this afternoon, but not by much. The Vikes rookie QB Ponder looked pretty good. Our QB Aaron Rodgers was outstanding! Best QB in the NFL if you ask me. Packers take their perfect 7-0 record into the bye week. GO PACK GO!:yes 4:

Finally, the UW Badgers lost a heartbreaker on a last second hail mary pass play to the MI State Spartans. There goes any chance for a BCS title for Bucky and prolly the Heisman Trophy Award to our QB Russell Wilson.:hairpulling:

My left knee continues to do well, though it's a little sore tonight after cheering & jumping up and down during the game on Sat. and bird hunting in the woods today. Tripping over a log didn't help either. Iced it earlier & soaked it in a hot bath. Felt good. Elevating it now. Should be good to go in the morning.

Kinda weird, feeling a clicking sound underneath my kneecap once in a while. Anyone know what that's all about. :what: Doesn't hurt, just feels & sounds strange.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. JMB

Way to go Spooner Rails!!!

Did I have you put your hand on my knee when I bent my knee back and forth? I have a click too. I believe it is just your new "bionic" parts. I felt it when the swelling really started to go down in my knee cap area. If I think too much about my knee when I'm walking, I think I can feel my knee cap riding over the femur. Doesn't hurt, just feels very strange.

JM,

Sure was a great football weekend. My nephew (freshman) plays for Johns Hopkins U (#1) Centennial Conference who played Gettysburg (#2) on Saturday, and handily beat them by a score of 83-21(not a typo). Watched the game on webcast and believe or not the jumping and hopping around didn't phase my new knee at all, never felt a thing. By the way he is a starter on special teams first year out and also had some time in the 4th quarter on defense. :thumb:

Good Lord willing we will be able to travel to Baltimore to see him play next season, just didn't feel I would be up to it this year. :dancy:

Just needed to brag a little bit, I've been so excited.:yahoo:

oooooh! Catlady - what's going on here?! He put his hand on your knee? Over the internet? :hysterical: Whatever next!

There are numerous explanations for this phenomena. Some say it's air bubbles, some that it's ligaments snapping. Personally, I think it's just that our nice soft cartilage has been replaced by hard metal and plastic parts. And what do you get when you tap two hard things together? Clicking and tapping!

As for feeling the knee cap riding over the femur, it's much more likely that it's the scar you are aware of. By which I'm not meaning the dreaded "scar tissue" surgeons and PTs get into such a twizzle about, but the natural healing of the surgical incisions. This starts off tough and ungiving but over months, reduces in bulk, increases in flexibility and eventually is barely noticeable from the normal tissues.

@Jo-actually he did feel my knee!!!! We actually live right by each other, so we meet for lunch to compare knees!! I don't know what is going on in my knee, it doesn't hurt, just feels so weird. Hopefully it is a scar and will eventually go away. I just feel I'm so aware of everything moving together in there.

Rode the lifecycle & lifted weights w/my legs last night at the gym.

Went to PT late this morning. Rode their stationary bike and did more strength training exercises. Legs are tired & sore. Knee is a lttle sore too.

Today, ROM was 2-125.:yay:

Happy to still be making progress, albeit slowly.

Rose, congrats on your nephew's FB success @ John's Hopkins. Sounds like he's doing wonderful and having a ball!:yahoo:

Our son got the cast off his right hand today.:yes 4: He's looking forward to having both hands this weekend as starting tight end on offense and middle linebacker on defense when we host the second round of state HS football playoffs.

Gonna be a real challenge playing the 2nd seed in our region. They're fast & physical. We're gonna need to bring our A game and then some to pull off a "W".

Wish us luck!

All my best! JMB

JM.....jumping and cheering at the game????!!! I am most certainly impressed with that!!!

JMB,

Thanks for the congrats. We have followed him all 4 years thru his high school career and now watching as many as we can get on the webcasts that we can. I'm sure you know the pride you feel when it's yours out there doing so well. God willing (with my knee) I will be in good shape to travel to some of his games next year. We live in Atlanta and he plays in Baltimore.

Glad to hear you are doing so well with your recovery. I sometimes think when we have a purpose to get our minds off things we do a lot better.

I agree Rose.

It's nice when your new knee(s) heal up enough that you can start focusing on things other than how your knee feels today!:yes 4:

I'll pray for your continued recovery.:prayer1:

Have a great day! JMB

Thanx Rose. I'll let you know how the game turns out. I appreciate your support.

And Jo, for the record, I did feel Lynn's knee while my wife & I were having lunch w/Lynn & her husband Mike. No funny stuff.

She's way ahead of me too.

Maybe next time we get together we can feel each other's knees and compare our clicks!:th_heehee:

Hope everyone has a great weekend. All my best. JMB

JM,

Reporting in with the game day report. JHU won 37-9, clinching the Centennial Conference Champions shift. We have two more regualr season games then we are off to the Championships. I am SOOOO excited.
Nephew had a really great open field tackle today. Yahoo,Whoopie.

Congrats Rose!

Unfortunately our run came to an end yesterday as our son's high school FB team lost to a regional powerhouse 34-8. Tuff loss :frown: but the boys had a great season.

My knee is a little sore today after my work outs at the gym last week, PT, and all the activity before & after the FB game yesterday afternoon. So today I'm just gonna chill.:bathtub:

Make it a great day! JMB

Some days are for chillin no doubt! Wise that you accept that now...:thumb::sleepz:

Big day today.

Golfed nine (9) holes this afternoon, walking & pulling my bag. First time swinging my clubs since my LKTR in late July 2010.

Scarey teeing off on the first hole. Wasn't sure how my new knee would hold up or react to the twisting motion of a golf swing. But low & behold I striped my first drive right down the middle of the fairway 250 yds out!:yahoo:

And I shot a 41 for nine holes. Should've broke 40 but I boggied & double boggied my final two holes.:hissyfit:

My new knee held up great. A little inflamation at the end of my round but no pain in the joint. In fact my left (new) knee felt much better than my right (old)one.

What's more, I walked (9) holes of golf this afternoon after working out at the gym every day this week & yesterday morning & afternoon on stationary bike and training with weights.:happy dance:

I'm really greatful to be getting back into the swing of things and my previously active lifestyle. I'm confident that my recovery is now on a downhill path and picking up more speed & strength every week.

:amen1: JMB
