TKR 2 new knees, 3 months apart oy vey

Dju have stairs apart from the cellar ones?

You are still in early days. :console2:
I keep thinking I can do more, It is summer, and I feel like I’m missing out on so much. I’m going to start planning a trip for next year, we love to travel, and not doing any in 2019 is killing us.

My bedroom is one the second floor, but I have been sleeping in the guest room on the main floor. We have a TV room in the basement, this week was the first time I have gone down. Stairs are not my friend

It's tough when you want to do things and the knee becomes the brake. I'm trying to be patient, but doesn't always work.

Where are you looking to go next? Where is your favorite place you've been?

We have a trip to Disney planned for December. I can't wait. I don't expect to be able to walk miles in the parks every day, but it will be lovely to be able to enjoy walking around my hotel, and to get in and out of cars and busses easily.

We've been building our list for future travel. So many things I haven't been able to do that I now will. I think next will be a castle tour of the British Isles. I haven't been able to do anything like that in ages with all the stairs and uneven surfaces.

@luvcats we cruise a lot, and try to go to Europe once a year (we are in USA) Ireland, Turkey and Poland are our favorite places. Fell madly in love with Ireland. You are right about the uneven surfaces. My mind is all over, we have never gone 1 year with out a trip, and my wife and I are going stir crazy.

Oh, I adored Turkey! We spent 2 days in Istanbul once. It's very high on my return list, and I really want to go to Izmir and to see the cave dwellings.

With the exception of our honeymoon cruise and a trip to the Caribbean, Beloved has never been *anywhere* outside the US. Whereas I basically grew up in Europe, so I really want to build some trips where I share some of the places I've enjoyed and then we find some new ones.

We are also going stir crazy. We were booked for a cruise in January, but I wound up in the hospital for something else and we had to cancel. It turned out well for time off work, but we urgently need a vacation. Disney in December is going to be a blowout! lol

Ireland is relatively obvious, but what do you adore about Poland? I've never been and know little about it.

@luvcats there is so much history there. We loved Krakow, the food, beer and people are fabulous the exchange rate is excellent so your money goes a long way. Poland is so clean

@luvcats look for an Europe cruise, great way to have your husband to get a good taste. We have done 4 and loved everyone

Got the grandson here to do a ton of yard work, and I’m trying hard not to walk around behind him. I don’t want to tire myself out. Let you know how this day goes

We dearly love cruising! So many stops without the hassle of moving luggage or local transportation. Plus the safety of planned food. I have an annoying number of food allergies and cruises keep it safe. We really want to do European river cruises, but they are quite pricey. I think we're also going to start looking into some coach tours to see highlights without too much hassle. Then we can stay in a few places. Beloved is somewhat less adventuresome than I.

@luvcats good luck tomorrow. Make it easy, what ever you wear to the hospital wear home. Loose cloths, and slip on shoes.

Well the boys showed up and did a great job of cleaning the garage and lots of yard work, and it was 90 degrees. I didn’t do much, but I was in and out of the house 20 times, and a lot of walking. My knees are swollen, not much pain, but I know I overdid it. Ice machine here I come. It was fun having them around the kitchen table for dinner (my wife cooks, I do the dishes). I was told “everything tastes better at grandmas “

Went to our first out door concert today. There is hugh cemetery called Lake View, where there are a president and famous people buried In front of the Garfield Memorial there is a large slopping hill, and all summer they have concerts, bring your chairs, wine and snacks and enjoy yourself. I did a lot of chair dancing, felt got to be out with music

Well I’m feeling the weekend in my knees, luckily I have very little going on the next 2 days. It becomes discouraging at this point in recovery, because you are feeling good , and your mind is like “hey, I can do that “.

For months I would rest the day after a more active day.

Outdoor concerts and festivals are great.

I’m going back on Mobic hopefully help with the swelling I keep forgetting I’m only 8.5 weeks out

You're one week ahead of me. I seriously feel I might've turned a corner in the past few days. Less meds, sleeping better, doing more with less after effects.
