TKR 2 new knees, 3 months apart oy vey

I think regaining ability and confidence on stairs with my new knee is going to be my biggest challenge.

Woohoo! So lovely to see a success story this morning.
Where will you go?

Feeling great today, honestly feel like I can take on the world. I know, I know. Don’t get over my ski’s But mentally today I’m 40. I’ll let you know how I feel tonight

I love flip flops!! :loveshwr:

Though I call mine sandals, they are expensive because they have my orthotic built into the footbed. My foot doctor and I agreed to disagree about it.

He insisted my sandals were flip flops. I said, no, flip flops are those rubber things you buy in the dollar store. (I bought many a pair of them for $1 in my much younger days.) (before there were Dollar Stores!)

My sandals are an excellent quality by Abeo. I get them from The Walking Company.

Honestly feeling like I have turned a corner, we are planning a big trip next year, maybe being gone 6 weeks. We are looking at cruises through Asia. Honestly 3 weeks ago I had no desire to even start planning, now I’m up and out of bed, heading to the computer, and knowing in Jan/February I’ll be so sure and ready. I feel so much lighter, does that make sense?? I’ll take any info anyone has about Asia cruises

@Benay we are looking at different cruises, some are heavy China/japan. Some Vietnam/ Thailand. Not sure

Japan probably my most favorite ever. Everything is so visually appealing and orderly. I've always been form over function and husband is the exact opposite. Maybe makes for good balance.

I can feel you're making incredible progress back to yourself!

FYI, Oprah’s doc told her a flip flop/thong style made plantar fasciitis worse, and could cause it. After reading that, I stopped wearing that style (no matter how supportive the rest of the shoe was), and have not had a problem with plantar fasciitis since.

?

PS Everyone must be feeling better because we’re discussing travel and shoes—LOL

@marieltha thank goodness, I have 0 problems with my feet. Living in Ohio, you only have flip flop weather 6 months out of the year
I’m excited to be planning a trip

Wow. I cannot imagine pain free feet. One of my earliest memories (I was perhaps 3) is of my late father massaging Dr Scholl’s foot cream in my feet every night! High arches. High insteps. Always (as a child when my sensible parents chose them) wore supportive shoes. Never walked barefoot. Still cannot. Perfect feet for toe dancing, but perennially painful.

:catdance:

You really sound much better!

Sounds like you are having a great day. Hooray for cruise planning! That sounds fun. I'm excited to go to the beach soon for a reunion. I'm going to sit on the deck with my leg up handing out drinks to the able bodied people playing games. :tennis2:

I plan on walking the beach & enjoying the family, all of us together is a rare treat & we have 5 nights of it!

Keep us posted about your trip!
