Thanks Annie and Cardie. I can always rely on you both to get back. Sorry, for being so bad to responding also. My knee issues began after my last surgery when a teenager at 13 as they both began to dislocate. First the right, from age 13 to 18 then at 18 the left wanted to join in and it began to dislocate. This didn't help at all and I haven't had a dislocation in either knee for the past 9 years. That, I believe is due to beginning to be more active and going to the gym etc. However, I have had some near misses with the right.
So, after the thr ( 2years) the right knee really began to ache and just constantly became worse in the pain. The OS said it was purely due to the hip as it was now realigned. However, despite the left having less arthritis then the right the symptoms are similar.
I know there is nothing I can do apart from continue to exercise and keep strong and hope for the best. I am seeing a physio for the knee but he's giving me the same exercises as I got for the hip. Not seeing any changes. The first Physio I saw after the surgery believed my hip may have atrophied and would never gain the strength to walk independently. It will be a year soon that I began the Feldenkrais, and he still has hope I will improve. The main exercise that made a huge benefit for the knees was the deep water running.
Your right, Cardie, I have to make peace with where I'm at which in many ways I have and in my holiday, it was more difficult re: mobility but I think I would have done maybe a bit more prior to THR but overall it was ok. That I believe is due to keeping strong. However, the worry is as I get older how the arthritis develops.
On a positive note I have noticed I am a bit stronger since the last year, so who knows what year 3 will hold
Will see OS on 17th April so will have a chat about the knee, but as said previously doubt it very much.
Thanks for the support
