    THR Burning

I’m at 6 weeks now and doing much better. Still have some burning, but a lot less. I think it was due to swelling for the most part. Walked 2 miles on Saturday, tired, a little sore but happy with progress.

Thanks, I’m always preaching to new knee people to ice but I’m not taking my own advice…

    THR Burning

My surgery was June 29, right hip. It does seem that the more I do the more pain I have. I still take pain meds at night, I am icing and elevating during the day. It does seem better after I ice, probably need to do it more often

TKR Need Help and Encouragement, please...

Dear BEG, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I know it's a very difficult thing to deal with under less difficult circumstances, but with everything else going on in your life right now, I'm sure it's quite devastating. Have you tried exercises in the pool to increase your bend? I found...

Support stockings do come in knee high. I find them to be very comfortable..

TKR Two (almost) matching knees at last!

Sandy, thanks for sharing a bit about your religious traditions along with your knee journey. I enjoy learning about other religions and appreciate when people explain the history of those traditions.

TKR Two TKR in two weeks---let the fun begin!

I've heard really good things about Wildwood. I had both of mine at St. Anne's with Dr Foetisch. I had a femoral block as well and thought it was fabulous! They said I could go home with the catheter and pump, but I decided not to do that... I thought it would be best to have pain med routine...

TKR Two TKR in two weeks---let the fun begin!

Hey Janis, congrats on your new knee. I just had my second (l) done in Toledo as well... Take it easy, rest when you can, enjoy the pain pump!

PKR Oops, I did it again...Round 2 complete!

Dear bionic women, we all know exactly what you're going through. Like Daughter Stalker said, having a mate doesn't always make it easier. Most of them have no clue what you're dealing with anyway. When I had my RTKR last summer I was not prepared for the extent of recovery I was in for. I...

TKR 12 days post OP TKR

I wouldn't rule out a regular bike at this point. I had my RTKR July 2012 and I was able to ride my bike this past spring with no trouble at all. I had my LTKR on July 29th, so I know where you're at right now. It truly does get better with time. Be patient with your recovery. As you...

TKR Brownie's Good, Bad, & Uglies

Marianne, you seemed to really like the young orthopedic surgeon who filled in for your OS when you first went to the office...can you contact him for advice?

TKR Need Help and Encouragement, please...

I'm so relieved to hear things are finally looking up for you. Hopefully you can focus on yourself and your recovery now. I'm sure your road to recovery will be a little easier now that you have a physician who cares. Take one day at a time and take care of you!

TKR So exhausted - is this normal?

Yes, I found out what being patient meant after my tkr... I didn't know anyone who had this surgery, so I had no clue what I was in for! My surgeon said the first two weeks were the worst, but "forgot" to tell me that it's a long time before you are "normal"!! Please take whatever time you can...
