TKR Turning a Corner with My New Knee

I am doing fantastic almost to the point of feeling a little guilty over the problems others have. I found that the bike was my savior along with a desk chair to do my flex exercises. Remember to push it a bit but also to rest it after each stretch. We have a lot in common it seems, I just got...

TKR Turning a Corner with My New Knee

Just checking in on you and few folks to see how it is going - pleased to hear it is getting better finally for you. I imagine you are sick of the word Patience ( lord knows i am ) but it seems to be the only thing that works.

@PolarBear60 I am just icing when there is obvious swelling and after talk with my PT am using a bit of non dry heat packs for comfort at times. It really helps and doesn't stiffen things up like the ice does. Great to hear that the gait helped with the clunking stuff. I was also told "Motion is...

TKR Turning a Corner with My New Knee

We had our knees done 3 days apart and am so tired of hearing "patience" or "it has only been x weeks" I could scream :) but this is a Marathon not a sprint so need to think of it that way and I am doing my...

TKR PolarBear60's Stryker Triathalon Journey (Left)

I hope the shoes help, alot has to do with gait and over compensating for the pain, so we stress other parts to make up for protecting the new knee. Mine is a bit complicated by having had Polio in the other leg so I am very aware what good boots can help with. Just take it easy on the walks...

TKR PolarBear60's Stryker Triathalon Journey (Left)

Make sure it isn't your hips instead of lower back that is adjusting, I found that all my old shoes had wear patterns on the heels from compensating for my bad knee. Once i got all new shoes it helped my hips and knee adjust to my new gait and posture and i didn't feel the lower back pain...

TKR May the force be with me!

My PT today commented on the popping in the knee cap etc - he said it is the guide piece that is attached to the back of the patella and is a good sound to hear because it means that it is clear of soft tissue swelling etc. It apparently is going to be a permanent thing.
