First day back to work today!! Was like a kid going back to school after having the summer off. I called it my "practice retirement" though I am probably 8 years off from the real thing...just a lot of my friends have been retiring. Disadvantages of being younger....
Had my 6-week post-op...
Guess I should have caught up with your thread before I responded above. Glad to hear your surgery went well and I know you will heal quickly. Wen are they doing the other hip?
Roofmaster, sorry I didn't respond before. Been away. You probably had your surgery...I hope it went well. You will probably already notice the pain being gone. It went away in the recovery room for me.
My hip feels GREAT! I had my post-op visit and the OS released me for work, driving...
Yes, Roofmaster, restrictions are for a given time period. Most OSs are different. I see mine on Tuesday for my 6 week post-op and should find out when mine ends. Should get back to work and driving privileges. And hot tub privileges should be restored, too.
Jojool, glad you are doing so well. It is great to be home...I remember.
My dogs (two big Labradoodles & a medium Shepherd-Akita mix) also knew to give me extra space...though they came up gently to nuzzle my hand or thigh when they could safely. They are amazingly aware creatures, and what...
fiddletwist, how has the sleeping been going? Are you napping a lot during the day? That could effect your night sleep? How about coffee or tea in the afternoons or evenings? Maryland is not a medical cannabis state?
BeckyR, great news! You are doing so well and happy you get to go back to work on the 26th. I am hoping to go back to work on that day, also. I have my post-op appt on Tuesday. Funny, we had our surgeries on the same day and our recovery seems to be synchronous, too. I
didoan, congrats on making it to the other side. Maintain that positive attitude and all will go well...did for me. I moved to crutches right away. Only one day with walker. I borrowed a walker from a friend and just have it over toilet now for getting up and down. Hope you have the riser for...
Roofmaster, I was amazed at how quickly mobility came back to me. I just past fifth week anniversary and I am getting around fine without any aid. I can pickup things from the floor (use golfer's bend with operative leg extended) though picking up weight is trickier. I am always careful and...
They told me the risk was minimal, but they did mention some. There is always risks with anesthesia. I think almost everyone on this forum had a spinal. Some with general, some without.
I had a spinal with a general. They usually give you a happy pill in pre-op...just to get you "happy" and carefree. Then, on the table they sat me up...I felt a gentle prick in my lower back (I think they use a local so you don't feel it) and then I layed back...then they put a mask over my...
