    TKR After 2nd TKR

Was feeling good when I wrote the last post. Now four and a half months on from op and still ok, go for a mile and a half walk most days. Knee makes a clicking sound but works ok. only thing is, after the physio appt, I found there was a lack of flexibility and a bit of pain on outside of knee...

    TKR Lindylee's RTKR 20 January 2020

dear All, yes sorry for those early in their recovery and those with other health issues. We’re in rural France, and although the virus numbers keep going up we feel a bit safer here than elsewhere and go out rarely. today I went for a walk through the vines, over 2 km I think. Knee hurts a bit...

TKR And Now My LTKR Recovery Begins

I’m at 8 weeks and haven’t as expected, gone back to England where I intended to see a private physio. Instead I’ve seen one on line, using ‘Zoom’ which worked well. We talked and he explained what I should do, has now sent me the exercises. well worth it for £50. today walked through the vines...

PKR Boredom, self-pity, pain and frustration

how are you doing. I know you probably didn’t come to France. We haven’t got to England. I had an on line appt with a physio in England as couldn’t be there in reality. Worked really well! Best wishes, H

    TKR Lindylee's RTKR 20 January 2020

Lindylee and Aries, sorry to hear getting supplies is such a problem. Our shop had plenty of every thing, except funnily enough honey. It’s a big shop but we’re in a very rural area. I imagine that in big towns in France they may have similar problems to you (although I don’t really know, my...

    TKR Lindylee's RTKR 20 January 2020

Sorry to hear about the bruises, Lindylee. Here in France it’s very strict about the lockdown. Have to have signed piece of paper saying where we’re going when we go out to chemist of food shop.Went shopping for food, yesterday, all trolleys sanitized, shop quiet, barrier around check outs...

    TKR Loneshark64’s recovery

Lovely picture. I think I’m Nearly 8 weeks on from the op. Not been out much recently due to lock down in France. Today walked round very big supermarket really for first time since op. Very quiet, all trolleys sanitized, everyone keeping ’social distancing’. but spent a lot ( nothing else to...

    TKR Swimming Query

Thank you Celle. When walking in grass it was difficult to hear it, but on my 10 minute walk round the block (currently in isolation, like everyone in France) I can hear it.

    TKR Swimming Query

In France we’re allowed to walk 2 km, no more, and they’ve now said, no cycling. Which seems a bit hard as in rural France there‘s lots of space and you’re unlikely to be near anyone in the country. I think it’s because if you had an accident It might take resources away from coping with the...

    TKR Lindylee's RTKR 20 January 2020

Lindylee very sorry to hear about your fall. Frightening, but I think it proves those new knees are resilient. Take it easy for a day or two.

    TKR Swimming Query

Tried to ride my (real) bike yesterday. Painful when I got to the top of the bend, couldn’t do it. Last time I managed once I reintroduced diclofenac (an NSAID) but i don’t really want to take it if I can help it. Not had paracetamol for last few days.
