My name is Bill an I am having Patient Specific Knee Repacement on 7/18/2012. I was wondering if any one else is having this or how it went if you already had it accomplished. I've had a MRI done and a series of x-rays of ankles/knees and hips for alignment of new knee. All seems very tecnical.

Don't know what a PSI is, there is no lottery here in SW Florida.

PSI is what you said "Patient Specific Surgery" and the lottery isn't real. Nyland was being ironic in that her surgeon has chosen to do something else.

PSI is okay but no better nor worse than any other knee.

Hi, Bill and welcome to the best place on the internet for info and support regarding TKA.
I had pt-specific cutting blocks, done with a pre-op MRI and long leg xray. This were sent to the mfr and the blocks were made for my knee. This makes surg. faster, and very little guesswork for the OS.
I LOVED my OS!
I am 13 weeks post-op now and I LOVE MY NEW KNEE! I really am so thrilled with my new life and mobility.
Wishing you the best. Keep us posted and good luck!
