THR weezie's recovery thread

Way to go @weezie
Keep it up....you sound great!
Wishing you will as you continue to heal.

Hi @weezie wow we’re five weeks now! Good to hear from you.
I’ve not been walking as much as I’d like but pottering around the house today. I had a few dizzy spells yesterday so being a bit careful.

Can't believe it but I am coming up to my six week appointment with my surgeon. Seems like I have blinked and I am now at this point in my recovery. It all seems to be going well...other than the sleeping part. I feel like i have so much energy that I have a hard time with sleep...I am tossing a lot and sleep more on my non operated side and then on my back...its just a big flip flop game at the moment. Not on a lot of pain meds any more and my range of motion is getting better. Was thinking back about the day of surgery and how nervous I was, and worried about the pain when I got home...still using my walker when I go for my outdoor walks, although, I have used my cane the other day...I also purchase a heel lift for my shoes as the leg discrepancy is a bit annoying and hopefully t will settle over time. Can't really complain, as I was saying to a friend the other day that I kinda feel a bit guilty that I am sailing thru this with very little problems. Grateful, you bet I am and so happy that I found this amazing group of hippy souls to let me vent and share this journey. Thank you..xx Your Hippy Sister, Lisa

Hi @weezie, the six weeks have gone by so fast. I can sympathise with the (non) sleeping. I was cleared to stop the back sleeping then found it was difficult to sleep on either side. I seem to alternate a good night with a not so good, frustrating as I am back at work part-time now. I think I may sleep better when I have had a walk outside so will make sure I go out today. Hope your 6 week check-up goes well.

@EmEm thanks for the reply and happy to hear that all is going well albeit the ole' sleep thing...guess it gets better over time...that's okay as I am just doing each day as it comes. We are currently having some crappy rainy weather so hopefully I can get my outdoor walk in tomorrow...just going to have to suck it up and get me raingear on...again, really good to hear from you....x

Happy 2 months @weezie
Hoping all is well!

Hi @weezie
Noticed you posted on EmEm's thread.
Sounds like you're doing well. Taking walks and using the cane less.
I wouldn't give it up if you're still limping. It will come...slowly but surely.
Best wishes for a great week!

I know you don't stop by often @weezie
so hopefully you'll see this before you're 5 months post op....
Happy 4 month anniversary!

Still lots of healing to go.
Will continue to progress, but happy quarter of a year to you!
