TKR Veronica's TKR Recovery

I'm glad your MUA is over and done. Take the time and rest after your very full day including PT.

Day is going okay. The swelling is mostly on the outside of knee and right above. Trying to keep it moving regularly and elevate and ice. Have PT tomorrow and I am going to try to go put in 4 hours at work afterwards. Have driven twice today dropping and picking up my child from school. Waiting to see how things progress once swelling is down.

Had PT on yesterday and then worked for 4 hours. No complaints. All went well without any flare ups of swelling. Will be having PT 3 times a week for 6 weeks. Going to try to balance exercising and work as I work from 10am-3pm on non PT days and try to do at least 3-4 hours on PT days.

@charmed-life Doing okay. Trying to figure out how to keep my knee moving while at work. Once I sit, an hour can pass before I am aware. Thinking about setting timer to go off every 30 minutes or something. Any strategies for working, exercising, icing and elevating while at work?
Pain after the MUA has been minimal, did take Tramadol for a few days as a precautionary measure to stay ahead of pain. More flexion, but knee still gets stiff and I have to really concentrate and make it bend when I walk.
Went to courthouse today and sat with a probationer while my chief went to lunch; my gait has got to get better.

That's my biggest issue too - the stiffness when trying to walk - it won't bend as far as it does when I'm sitting. I'm at 95-98 degrees of flexion now but still have swelling and stiffness.
