THR Tomorrow is six weeks

Well that was a very honest answer! I had from pain when I got more active and basically it was a sign I needed to slow my roll when possible.
Thankfully it was off and on like yours and didn't get too chronic, but I certainly have seen it here on the forum.
After work, I put myself on sabbatical..icing and recliner bound. Still healing happening.

Slowly but surely it eased and eventually passed that stage.
Listen to your body.
It will tell you how much is too much.
Hope today is an easy day.

Happy Two Month Anniversary!
I hope all is going well.
Leave us an update...we'd love to hear how you're doing.
A great week to you!

You mention steps, that's a sure sign of a fitbit. So far the best advice for a fitbit is to put it in a drawer until recovery is in the later stages.

Greetings! I agree with so many of the comments. I went back to work at 6 weeks, and it probably wasn't the best idea. I thought I was doing really well - and now I need the other hip done. I'm not sure if pushing progress was a factor, but there it is. I love the comment that this surgery is an investment in our future - so true, so patience, rest, and healing need to take place - mostly healing at its own pace. I'd be wary of the PT at this point; just do the calf, quad, glute, etc. basics - take Tylenol - it works. Rest up.

I am now coming up on ten weeks. I was doing great even went for a short hike and did so very well. Yesterday I drove to LA and had my hair done so a lot of sitting. I got out of the car after the hairdo and couldn't walk. I had so much pain in the thigh area. It was so bad I had people stop and ask if I was okay. Today I went for a walk and five minutes in same thing pain when I put the foot on the ground and pain is in the thigh and went to the butt. I kept walking trying to get it worked out and it did ease a little but I kept having to stop. Please anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping to do a bike ride tomorrow

I'm sorry you're struggling with pain. I had difficulty with long car rides for the first couple of months post op.
I believe it was from being stuck in the same position. I brought an ice pack for a time and it helped. It slowly eased and ended. However, I didn't experience pain afterward so I'm not sure of a connection and then you mentioned the same pain today five minutes into walking. I can tag Josephine if you'd like her input. She's in the UK and with the time difference you will not hear from her today. I wouldn't advise the bike ride until you understand the source of the pain. It may just aggravate whatever is causing you discomfort. Wondering if you engaged in any extra activity, new exercises, PT?
Wishing you comfort. I hope it eases soon.

That would be great thank you. I was doing so well and now struggling and I'm so used to being active. I was walking fairly well and now it just really hurts

Ok, let's see what @Josephine has to say.
I've tagged her and will look forward to her response along with you.
I hope you have a peaceful weekend :)
@jramsey1

thank you. It feels like a nerve in my foot that goes all the way up

I did twenty minutes of stretch and it feels better. Maybe I have this???

Sorry I've been so long answering your call. I had a day off yesterday!

Is your pain in anyway similar to this?

[Bonesmart.org] Tomorrow is six weeks

Yes when it happens it goes from bottom of foot to thigh to butt. It stops me from walking

Thank you so much. Stretching had started and reminder to stretch is on phone. It’s easing. I appreciate this forum so very much

@jramsey1 I had horrid piriformis issues post LTHR. I started doing gentle hamstring stretches from a seated position and they really helped. Start very gently as your hamstring may be very tight. Icing also helped me.

Hope this eases soon!

Happy Three Month Anniversary!
Hopefully your pain is easing...
Let us know how you're doing next time you stop by. We'd love to hear.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a great 2019!
