Well, the test is in and my heart is completely normal. Nary a sign of heart disease. This is good on two levels: 1) I got cleared for my surgery tomorrow (yay!) and 2) my dad's side of the family all tends to die of heart disease, so knowing I don't have heart issues is reassuring.
A minor insurance mess up made things exciting this morning. My surgeon's office called to say they hadn't received precertification yet. This was more strange than alarming because just yesterday my insurance company called to wish me well on my upcoming surgery and discuss what kinds of post-hospital care my plan covers, so I would better understand my options. Cozy, right? They'd been paying for all my pre-op tests and appointments all along, so double strange. Turns out the insurance company was experiencing widespread system outages yesterday and today and the okay for surgery just got hung up somewhere. It's all settled (and covered) and all systems are go.
Surgery is scheduled tomorrow for 7 am. I'll be at the hospital by 5:30 am. Sure am looking forward to my new, improved knees!
