Yes I’m trying to be patient - it’s hard to go so slow but it seems like it’s the only way - my body has forced me to behave more gently and progress slowly. Your advice about overdoing it and taking it easier was spot on !
It is often the way of us new hippies.
We often feel because this is an "elective" surgery, (As If constant pain was a better choice) that once our scar scabs up, we should be "working a rehab"
Time and our amazing bodies own healing properties are often the answer.
BOORING ...but necessary.
I learned alot the hard way too.
Glad you are doing much better.
Lots of improvements coming.
I’m new to this forum….and am learning so much from all the posts! I had THR 10 weeks ago and am worried Im not progressing as I should. Having read your posts, I think I’m overdoing it! Will take a few days off, ice, rest and walk and hopefully will feel better.
Thanks for sharing your journey!
Just wanted to give an update - it’s now 9 months since the operation - things are much improved - I’m swimming for 30-40 minutes (doing 35 lengths) three times a week and walking about 9000 steps daily - my hip is doing great - time is a great healer - I just wanted to let you all know your advice was key, to take things easier and slower and rest as much as possible and not over do things - I was definitely overdoing things and healing is a slow process - my impatience and frustration at how slow the process needed to be, didn’t help - my body healed slowly and at its own pace and everyone is different - if your story is a slow healing then try accept that and be confident there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I was terrified at one stage that I’d made a big mistake and now can confidently say that the operation was a big success and I’m way better off now than before the op. Many thanks to all of ye on this forum for all the advice - it gave me great comfort during the worst times when my fears and pain gave me doubts !
Thank you all so much !
So so glad to see you doing so well.
Patience certainly pays off in this recovery game.
Thanks for sharing your story and great advice! @Anidavi
