Thanks All, made it out the other side fine. Posterior approach. Medicated and waiting. Some decent pain, but manageable.

Next day post op. Last nite was tough sleeping on my back, but the pain has subsided, and I have taken a few walks in the hall. So far so good!:yahoo:Not sure if it is the Posterior Approach, or what, but I feel better sooner, than last time with Anterior. I was told it is weight bearing, like the right side, so good.

How wonderful!!! It's so good to hear someone crow a bit about the posterior approach. The truth these days is that patients get excellent results from it as well as an anterior surgery. You are walking proof of that!! Bravo!!!

So just had a minor freak out. Noticed the LLD this morning, with the newly operated hip feeling/is longer than the other by about an inch. Yikes. So I turned to the forum, and will wait and be patient, hopefully it "settles" I am home from hospital, after just one night, so that is a positive. Just need to stay calm about the LLD. PT coming this morning.

Today is my 45th birthday, about 10 days post op. Progressing much faster with light use of a cane now. I have continued to do the stretching and exercises while adhering to the restrictions. Some short driving too. Lot's of rest and tapering off the meds. No where to go but up, from here.

Hi @kendog - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Great report, enjoy the day and have your cake too!

@kendog Great to hear you doing so well. It sounds like you are well on track for a good recovery but don't overdo it too fast. Have a very Happy Birthday, you certainly have something to celebrate!

@kendog. Happy birthday! The best gift you got 10 days ago and sounds like you are well on the way. Ahead of me. I'm at day 18 and just today am thinking I am ready for the cane. But a little nervous to make that call on my own. But walking much smoother and stronger. Good to hear from you. Keep us posted.
