On the out side of my left knee is a large bulge and a smaller bulge on the inside. Where the joint is. When I raise my leg in a sitting position I am unable to straighten my knee. My thigh is tight when I try to stretch. On the outside of my knee there's a pain (maybe) nerve that travels down my leg and cross e's over the top of my foot. Especially when I am icing. When I stand for more than 30 minutes there's a tightness and pulling feeling and it feels like it's swelling. I know when the OS cleaned out the infection before putting a knee in. He shaved away part of the inside bone below my knee. So he might not feel comfortable on a MUA. I will as him questions. I need answers. Thank you so much for your opinion s. They have opened my eyes to other possibilities. That maybe there's more wrong with my leg than me not able to straighten or bend well.

When did you have your TKR? That makes a big difference as well.

The 1st was March 2012. Then I had an infection. (Knee came out. ) May 2013 2nd TKR .( I was asked to post that. I can't figure it out.)

That I can help you with. Just go to the top of the page where there is a little photo of you on the right.---oops there is that little girl symbol!!! It is a grey box under the word "biomet".

Hover your mouse over the box with the girl symbol and a menu will drop down. The second line is "signature".

click on signature and then when it appears, just type in the box something like thisinfetion

Revision May 2013
Infection
TkR march 2012

Let me know if you have a problem. Kelly

The window opens but it doesn't say signature. (Open files) it says on 2nd line

I had my 1st graston massage today. The PT showed me the red marks on my thigh. She said that is scar tissue. There was pain during but now 3 hours later no pain. I have 7 more sessions. My flexion is 85. 5 was straight leg. I am using a soft ball to relieve the trigger points in my left leg. I also relieve trigger points in my right leg. I am still seeing the chiropractor every 2 week's.

I did your signature for you. :)

That would be the peroneal nerve which can get damaged during surgery.

The OS .... might not feel comfortable on a MUA
Well, you're 20 months since your revision which means it's kind of on the boarder line and might be worth trying. I'm actually surprised that your surgeon hasn't already suggested it. Is he aware of your problems?

If he's not keen and is likewise not keen on doing a lysis, then I suggest you get a second opinion. I cannot imagine that the kinds of therapy you are presently trying will be very successful as your adhesions are very long lasting and likely to be quite tough.

The terms adhesions and scar tissue are invariably interposed by PTs who don't seems to recognise the difference between to two types of tissue. But there is a difference. Scar tissue is a form of fibrous tissue which joins cut surfaces like skin and muscle together in order to repair and return the area to normality. Adhesions are more properly tissue which forms in abnormal places which you can read about here MUA (Manipulation under Anaesthetic) and Adhesions.

Life is looking up for me. I feel stronger. I am having the graston massage and PT. And icing. I am on my stationary bike. Thanks everyone for your encouraging message because of all of you I didn't give up and just accept my predicament. Thanks again.
