TKR ski_bum's Recovery Thread

If the surgeon was able to pinpoint the muscle location of the pain, I suggest you ask the therapist to try pressure point massage therapy (also can be called trigger point massage therapy). It can take a while, but this treatment uses finger pressure on the point of pain to release and relax the muscle fibers. I've been having this type of therapy for about a month to help with muscle issues after my THR (August 23) and the result has been amazing. I hope you can find a therapist that knows this technique.

@Layla
I think I am losing it, lol.

Now I can't find the diagram myself.
Help Please & Thank you.

Not cloudy is a good sign. Hope it’s good news when you get the results.

@SkiBum
Good Morning from Silver Star Mountain Resort, Vernon BC. Canada.
A nice relaxing run away from the Crowds and lunch time.
Knees are working, still some pain, mostly when I take my skis off, lol.
Tomorrow visit with the Surgeon to get results of the Biopsy.
Hope you are skiing, 55 days of skiing this season.
Don

@Layla
Thank you so much for thinking of me.
Yes, I got good News, No Infection. Biopsy was totally negative.
Working with PT & IT Band, both legs.
I can live with the IT Band popping on right leg (no pain, just weird) and no revision.
Thank you again for all the help.

Great news about the lack of infection. So happy for you! You may find things improving with some more time and your work with a good therapist. Sometimes it just takes a while for everything to settle completely. It's why we tell people to give their new joints a full year.

Woohoo! :happydance:
Good news. That must be a relief. I am very happy for you!
