THR Second round ... and I sure hope it goes as well as the first

Big hugs, we're with you in spirit.
See you on the healing side :) :-) (:
@Knitquilt

Home about 24 hours after surgery! Much improved from my 4 day stay with my first. Blood pressure very low x was in recovery for 5 hours before I got to my room. My blood pressure continues to be low but i’m Not nauseous and I don’t think I’m going to faint when I’m up like last year.
Totally exhausted, log log, more pain when I walk than I’d like, but I think tomorrow will be a bit better - BECAUSE I’M HOME :loveshwr:
First time pooping! What a day!

:wow:....home in 24 hours ! amazing. Glad to hear you are doing well. Totally understandable to be exhausted...hoping you get a good nights rest and that you have an even better day tomorrow.:SUNsmile:

  • Yay ...glad to see your post! Home AND "going" already.:egypdance:
Take it easy and keep that ice going...you know the drill.

Last one...and done.
Healing hugs:angel:

Welcome to the other side. Pooping on your second day is excellent and you are home too! All best wishes for your recovery...

I have a pain question that I’ll Be asking the visiting nurse, but I’d Like @Josephine’s opinion. My pain isn’t as well managed this time around.

I’m taking
Tylenol 325 mg 3 x a day 3 tablets
Celebrex 200 mg once a day
Gabapentin 100 mg 3 x a day
Dilaudid 2 mg every 4 -6 hours
I was told I could take 2 Dilaudid at a time, but it really knocks me out, and doesn’t seem to do much for pain.

Surgery was Monday, and today will be my 3rd day out.

My question is, would taking Tramadol with Tylenol manage this pain better?

Thanks, Josephine

Hi @Knitquilt
So very sorry your pain isn't as well managed this time.
I'm tagging @Josephine since your tag isn't showing due to the apostrophe s
Hopefully she'll be able to direct you to more efficient pain relief.
Wishing you comfort and sending a hug :console2:

So you're not actually taking Tramadol at this time? Because you haven't mentioned it.

Assuming you have Tramadol at hand, I'd say yes, that would be a good idea. I have two schedules that I used for my TKR recovery

[Bonesmart.org] Second round ... and I sure hope it goes as well as the first

So sorry you are hurting...hope surgeon gets you right soon.
Healing hugs, friend :console2:
:ice: keep the ice on, okay?

Hope pain is becoming managed..
Did you get some different meds?

Healing hugs coming at you dear @Knitquilt :friends:

I called the surgeon’s office and asked for Tramadol and they said sure. If Tramadol doesn’t manage the pain, they will prescribe something else. I’ve been taking Jo’s advice with her med chart all day, and it seems to be working fine. I have home PT tomorrow so we’ll see. It’s the same therapist I had for my first hip. I really like her and was so relieved when I found out I was having her again.
She’s like you all are: compassionate, kind, and encouraging. I better stop now before I break out in song, “You are my sunshine...”. :heehee: Thanks for asking @Mojo333

Hi there:hi:
I'm happy to hear you called the OS's office and it's great Jo's med schedule seems to be working. :yes!:
How nice you're already familiar with your therapist and like her. That's half the battle.
You sound good, happy. It's reassuring. I hope you have a comfortable overnight and peaceful weekend.
Love and hugs! :loveshwr: :friends:
@Knitquilt

I had some pretty strong pain relievers but graduated to the Tramadol/Tylenol regimen..worked well for me also.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Glad to hear you've got the pain under control @Knitquilt and am very impressed (and jealous!) of your success on the loo :yay:.....one of the nurses told me my bowels had been the subject of discussion at handover time :blush::umm: and another hinted I might not be allowed to leave without reporting success :thud: All we have to do now is concentrate on Recovery, and I am also having to try not to get over-confident because I've 'done it all before' :sigh: Take it easy with the PT and slap on those ice packs!

Somehow it’s the same but completely different all at the sane time. How can that be, @anny ?

The visiting nurse says she swears by a shot glass of prune juice warmed up. Haven’t tried it yet, but will put it on our grocery list. You sound great, Anny!

Am I missing something? Curious about the content of the warmed up shot glass?
If you have a new remedy we've yet to read of here, please share.
You and anny both sound great! But then again you're both pro's now, right?
Hope today is a good one! :friends:
@Knitquilt

Hahaha! Figured something had to be in it
Can I say :eeeuw:
Oops, I just did! Doesn't sound palatable. But whatever brings you relief.
Hope you find it soon.
@Knitquilt
