@Andmav Not long now! You are going to be fine! You will have your BoneSmart family with you in spirit. Looking forward to following your recovery!

@Andmav I just wanted to stop in and say Hi and Welcome!

@Cynthia777 has a great reference list.

I had a difficult time managing my pain the first week. Although I was given pain meds on time every 3 1/2 to 4 hours in the hospital, I don't think I communicated my level of pain appropriately. When the nurse asked what my level of pain was I said 5 and that it was tolerable, so she said that the pain would be managed to a 5 or less. I wish I would have asked them to manage it to a 3 or less. I was uncomfortable most of the time and once the pain started to creep above a 5 it became intolerable pretty quickly. So I totally agree to have your pain managed to 0-3.

Best of luck and I look forward to hearing all about your recovery!

Thanks

@ccarol

Thoroughly enjoyed your posts.

Believe it or not, I'm putting in a full day of work today, albeit from home, it's still work.
In between client support calls, I gather a few items of clothes
put some family pics in frames
tidy up condo
couple loads of laundry
Trying to keep busy & "stay cool". ❄️

Have a medical coders meeting tonite,
then dinner w/my kid sister.

Did I mention I'll be going to acute rehab upon Lahey discharge?

Yep, I have a multi-level townhouse--
living area/kitchen/bath on 2nd fl
master bed/bathroom on 3rd fl
--so this bought me a week of 3 hrs total daily PT/OT per day @ Whittier Rehab Inpatient Hosp.

SO MUCH to anticipate
But, I CAN/WILL do it

OH my, three stories would be quite a lot to navigate post-op. I know of two people who went to a rehab facility post-op and they both raved about happy they were with their decisions. Just make sure you bring some of those wax ear plugs! :heehee:

Just spoke w/hospital
7:30 am procedure start tomorrow.
Less than 24 hours

Sounds like you will be first in line and that's a very good thing (no stewing while waiting in line). Sending you prayers and well wishes for your surgery and recovery. Will be waiting to hear from you! Hugs! :friends:

@Cynthia777

Thanks SO much.

In the midst of a pamper day--
Pedicure done
At hair salon right now (roots)
To the beach for lunch
w/a childhood friend.
Then home, to finish up packing,
spending some quiet time w/SO (Andy)

Oooh, you lucky girl, you!!! Great way to spend the day before surgery to keep your mind busy! Did you mention roots? Oh my, mine are so bad at the moment that I don't even think they're considered "roots" anymore!:yikes:

I'll be excited to see you flip over to the post op side @Andmav. I'm so jealous that you are getting the bilateral op. I wanted both done at the same time. My OS said I could choose which side to do first as they were both equally bad and bone on bone. I said, Let's do both at the same time! He won't do them together and I wasn't interested in waiting and looking at other surgeons so here I am all pain free and recovering on side one and having to do it all over again on side two. You will be up and romping about before I even go back again. This is your last day with hip pain. See you on the other side!!!!!! Try to relax and rest tonight. Tomorrow -- you get your life back. --julie
