I remember some years ago, my trainer needed me to pick up the judge for one of our shows at her motel and drive her back at the end of the day. During our "car conversation" she told me about a severe ankle injury that she'd had years earlier - I think it was a crush injury. She was in constant pain and had stopped riding. She finally decided on amputation. It is very scary to think about but I imagine you've already faced that and are ready to move on. It can be the right decision - at least it was for that judge. I know she went back to riding and showing in the jumpers. I can't imagine not having the possibility of riding in my life. I wish you the best, too.
