THR Replacement hip confusion

Hi Layla.
Thank you for checking in on me. I’m not doing great. I still have excrutiating back ache when I walk. I think this is due to my upper body being twisted because of walking really strangely before my surgery due to bone on bone pain. I have bursitis in both hips. I can’t take anti
Inflammatories due to other medication I am on. I now have tendinitis in both ankles which the doctor thinks is due to everything being out of alignment. I have just gone backwards in recovery and I don’t know why.
I have requested to see the Consuktant on Tuesday this week and have an appointment. I really need some answers as to why no one has addressed the position of my upper body. If I stand with both feet flat on the floor together my whole body is tilted to the right.
I have also been referred to physiotherapy again and have an appointment on the 7th November.
I’m really hoping they can help me and guide me in the right direction.
Thank you so much.

I am so sorry you're struggling as you are. I hope you have a good visit with the consultant tomorrow and he's able to advise in a way that eventually brings you some permanent relief. Please stay in touch and let us know how you're doing. :console2:

Hi Layla.
I’ve had my appointment with the Consultant also the new physiotherapist.
Basically there is a lot of scar tissue there which he said I have to massage and stretch out. He said the implant is a couple of mm high but ok, but combined with the 1 cm leg length different is going to take some getting used to. He said still early days 17 1/2 weeks. He said for the bursitis, just to do the exercises the new physiotherapist has given me. Doesn’t want to do an injection yet.
The physiotherapist I saw I felt really listened to my concerns and has finally given me exercises for my back which I have never had. He said there is no flexibility in my lower back at all so the exercises will loosen everything up. However, I was doing the exercises too much so only 3 times a week.
All in all I feel more positive now I have seen the Consultant and been given some exercises for my back.
Also the physiotherapist hasn’t discharged me this time so they can check on my progress.
I’ll keep you informed.
Thank you so much Layla.
X

Hi Holiday,
Thanks for updating. I am glad you've been reassured by the consultant and physiotherapist. I sense your positivity with the plan to exercise, which hopefully eases the bursitis and back pain. Good to read that the physiotherapist will be checking on your progress. I wish you speedy relief from the discomfort you've been dealing with. Stay in touch.
Hugs

I hope the new exercises for your back help.. Especially if you do as they suggested and only do them 3 times a week. Our bodies need time to recover, even from helpful exercises/activities.

One day at a time, right? Please take good care of yourself.

Thank you Ladies. I’m sticking with the programme. I’m still limping but just hope for the best.
Xx
