Warhorse well at least we are not waking up at 0500 for PT@ 0600 if you understood that reference, i will bet you a beer at Tubbs that you laughed. Yeah only had Pt in the hospital and then when I went on crutches to show me how to do stairs again. I was crutching fairly well, just forgot how to do stairs and tried out one crutch vs two crutches. Peace be with you

randy62 Why can't you even take tylenol and drive? It isn't supposed to affect your ability to function. I've driven a lot, taking tylenol or ibuprofen for one reason or another, headaches, etc. I did not know there was a driving warning on those.

Butterfly they are safe to take as far as i know, but after years of overusing that stuff I have decided to give my kidneys and liver a break. The pain that i have now compared to what I had before the surgery is nothing that a few breathing exercises won't take care of. Now remember this is me and this is my choice this works for me I am not advocating this for you. I am more into the mind body therapies then into the mind numbing drugs. But Butterfly once again this works for me and I am not telling you to do it. Peace be with you

randy62, Glad things are going well, Randy. You can drive on Tylenol or Advil. I never heard otherwise, did you? They don't affect your mind at all.

Oh, I thought you had said it was doctor's orders. I wasn't paying good attention, I guess.

BeckyR i know that, but choose not to take any. The quantities that were taken in addition to the other drugs that i was forced to take in order to control the pain prior to my surgery makes me uncomfortable with the use of drugs. So I choose not to. Pea e be with you

randy62, I understand your choice and I think that's great. I was just confused, because I thought that someone, at some point in the thread, had implied that you can't drive on Tylenol. We all have a different pain threshhold, and if you are OK without the medications, there's no reason for you to take them. I try to minimize the number of medications I take, and I especially value a clear head. If I have two glasses of wine in a year, that's a lot. And each time I have one, a few minutes go by and I wish I hadn't, because it clouds my thinking and brings me down. A clear mind is the best thing of all.

Right now, I still need to use some painkillers, but I've cut down quite dramatically, step by step.

Yes randy62 you made me LOL! I do not know about Tubbs, but I would bet you that beer at Tun Tavern, if you get my drift.

Semper Fi!

Okay went to doctor's officer today to pay my bill some and ask if I could go to a cane. Woo hoo Dr said yes. So know I am on a cane instead of crutches. Now I am just wondering how long before I can have a pedicure? Anybody know?

randy62, that's great news! It makes getting around a lot easier.

I went to a podiatrist to get my nails cut last week. Just ask your doctor about it, my OS agreed that it was safer than going to the Asian pedicure place at the mall (less chance of getting nicked that could result in an infection). Infections are supposed to be bad for our new hips, plus I am a type II diabetic now.

Warhorse yeah you have what is called a systemic disease diabetes and because of the under lying medical condition this would/should be covered by your health insurance. Really depending upon the dx dose submitted by your pods office. I on the other hand do not have that condition, so I have to fend for myself.

randy62 Yes sir you are correct, all I paid was my co-pay on my health insurance. Oddly enough, and quite coincidental I'm sure, that is the same price advertised at the Asian nail place for a pedicure. I did not get the soak, massage, and nail buff though while I was at the podiatrist. :tantrum:

I fell today. I was letting Zeke out of the back of the car and dropped his leash. We were on a road so I reach down to grab his leash and fell over. I think that in the moment I forgot that I had hip surgery an just wanted to secure my friend. I checked myself out after getting up and no blood, no foul, but I am not sure whom Sue I more upset at. Zeke or me, Zeke because he got distracted and pulled his leash out or me because I fell getting the leash back

When you type in the American slang for upset, it converts it the to the English slang of drinking to much

Which guy got all restrictions lifted and can walk without a cane? THIS GUY! Had doc X-ray my right hip also, and although he did say he does not have a crystal ball, it looks like a good 2-3 years left on that hip. He does not want to see e unless I have problems
