Ready I will have to look for Yogi's Bedtime Tea! I did sleep better last night! I hope to tonight also. My problem also is that when I go to bed I start to worry about not falling to sleep! I like your philosophy on things being there tomorrow! Thanks for the advice!

Mbone A big thank you that was just what I needed to hear this morning.

First week back to work is over! I do so well all day, but boy, am I pooped at the end of the day! I have to take it easy this weekend and rejuvenate!

Hi Mbone, I also went back to work this week, only for the last two days, but I was both physically and mentally exhausted by the time I got home. So I share your pooped-ness state! Unfortunately I'm also not sleeping, so that is a concern for me as we need our energy levels topping up.

I don't know about you, but I found it was the little things that caused me to mentally stumble - using the normal sized toilets, how do I carry my lunch tray and navigate other people in the canteen, how to make sure that I stretch when I need to, how to do the commute on the train and avoid problems like the snow! I've booked next week off as holiday, and hope to regroup a little so that when I go back the following week I'm able to be more proactive in my approach.

Mbone Well done on getting to the end of your first working week. Enjoy the rest over the weekend and I am sure you will feel less pooped as time goes on

Firebrand My surgery was almost a month before yours. I can understand your need for a little more time off. To top it off, I got a cold and am so stuffed up! Sleeping has been a little better, but that is with the help of sleep aids. I really wish I could just close my eyes and go to sleep!
Kim22 I am sorry to see the weekend over! I'm sure I will get less pooped as time goes on also!

3month OS checkup. Hip is doing great! I had some x-rays of my knees. I really was anticipating having another replacement this summer. My other hip is bad as are my two knees. My right knee is really bad and right hip isn't much better, but he said I have a good range of motion in my knees and good rotation of my hip! I do not really have hip pain yet. He recommended waiting and having my knee injections. He said I'm young and doing pretty good so try injections a little more and if pain get bad, then we will replace. He said not too wait as long for my hip to go bad like the other one did. So I'll wait!

Great update, no surgery imminent.. Gives your THR time to heal.. Good news :)

Josephine As I stated above, my OS recommends waiting before having any more replacements. My right hip does not hurt...yet! My knees, though bad, are not killing me. My right knee is worse than my left. He recommends right hip before right knee. He said to wait because I'm on the younger side for replacements and there is no telling how long my hip will hold out. He said not to plan surgical procedures around a schedule. I really like my OS and respect his opinion. After all... he makes his living by operating! I told him my back is hurting me and he's sending me for PT on my back. He said to continue my knee injections. One thing for sure... the moment my hip starts up.., of scheduling an appointment!

It's been 4 months since my TLHR. I cannot begin to tell you how great I feel. I got injections in my knees and now I am as good as new...well almost! The only thing bothering me is my back which I am going for PT. I rode my bike 6 and a half miles last weekend. I was not able to get onto my bike all last summer! So for me, this is quite an accomplishment! I walk around, up and down stair, one foot over the other, like normal! Having my hip replaced was the BEST thing I ever did for myself!!

WOW that is great. Do be careful with those knees and the other hip. Take care and have fun.

Mbone that is a great update!! :)
I want to apologize. You were one of the first people to show up on my new thread back in March, and it seems I never found you again! It took me quite a while to get the hang of this place. Thank you very much for that early encouragement :) :):friends:

You update is what it's all about Mbone! For those of you waiting for surgery or trying to decide - this is the end result. Getting on with the things you love! Well done - enjoy! :bicycle1:

Hi Mbone What a great update I love it that you were able to cycle 6 and a half miles in the great outdoors and sounds like you are walking well too thanks to the injections in the knees.Well done !
