Well saw my OS this morning and I'm off the crutches. Yippee, doing the happy dance.
He checked my walking gait and he's very happy. I have loads of flexibility and movement.
I asked what's next and basically he's said "hip joints don't need exercise" BS mantra.
So walking is great but not loads of it as when you tired you start to limp and strain your muscles. Best thing for improving gait was hydrotherapy pool walking then building up to water running then swimming. Too much too quickly give you aches and pains in other areas. He said not to worry with a Physio or PT, maybe try some clinical Pilates, exercise bike, upper body weight being careful not to strain myself. Apparently the cup size of the joint is a nice fit that the likely hood of dislocation is very unlikely. And my next appointment is for 12mths time. Can you believe that. OMG this is the best news ever.. I never though this would be the end result, I always expected to have some sort of issue with an artificial joint. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan
