THR My Aching Rear!!

Well, as I understand it, granulomatosis is an inflammatory condition of blood vessels which would be logical if there is bursitis. In that respect it needs investigation sooner rather than later to confirm or refuse such a suggestion. It's also extremely rare so don't panic! Just get in touch with your GP and discuss what's next.

Hi Julie,

Sorry to hear that the MRI reveals bursitis and I hope that your GP will be able to give you guidance on the additional diagnostic information. Would it help at all to see your massage person again to work on the IT band in attempt to keep it stretched out a bit and from rubbing over the inflamed bursa? I don't know if it's too acute for that kind of work -- I find that I have to roll on the foam roller every night, I have mild bursitis...

Hope you get some answers and feel better soon,
Cardie

Hi Julie, we haven't heard from you in awhile. How's things? Any progress?

My GP reviewed MRI and of course referred back to OS. I faxed the report to my OS on Thursday and haven't heard a word back. I will call tomorrow, but he's in surgery on Mondays and Tuesdays. Need to get this all addressed. I'm tired of this...

Geez - sorry you have to play the waiting game again. Do call tomorrow and tell them it is urgent. You do need to get this addressed and get on with living. Hang in there! Please update when you can.

Hi Julie

I was wondering if you have heard from your OS yet?

And, to see how are you doing?

Nope, nada, not !!! VERY disappointed right now and hurting like I have been for months. I called yesterday and got another lady and I told her I faxed the MRI report to my OS's coordinator, she checked and said yes she had gotten it, he was not in on Friday and he would look at it and they would call me back. NOTHING.

Are they trying to blow me off since I kept telling him I had an issue and he kept saying it wasn't my hip and now it shows it is??

What do I do now, find someone else in another town?

:hairpulling:

Julie, been a long while since I checked in. Big fat bummer that you are still struggling so much. In your thread I have not heard you get back to your chiro. Along with the massage that might help. I slipped my disk years ago and for me it is really imp to have adjustments now and then to keep the space open so there is no compression on the nerves. Of course, not saying this is a cure, but could be a piece that might at least temporarily help. I sure do hope you get some answers soon, you certainly deserve them.

There is nothing wrong (cept the hassle of getting your rpts to someone else) in getting another opinion, especially if you are not getting what you want from your current doc.

Again, hope you get some answers soon. -Cathy

Hi Julie,

When I had my ultrasound the radiologist told me that they could do injections at their center or my GP could do them (she doesn't). Maybe your GP would have a suggestion for how you can follow up on this problem. My OS was not interested in my bursitis either, he told my GP on the phone that it was not unexpected after THR surgery.

Hope you get some relief soon!!
Take care,
Cardie

Thanks !! I've been calling my OS the last couple of days and his nurse said yesterday that she would be calling me today with what he wants to proceed with. I told her I just need to know if he wants to see me or refer me or what? She said she understood.

Of course my GP called again and said that I need to be referred to a OS, like I don't already know that.

Thanks for the support. Will let you all know.

Hi Julie

I am so sorry you are getting the run around... Definitely not fair...

I do hope you hear from your OS today - good luck :)

Well I got a call back and he still says that it's my lumbar (disc) issue causing this as he has conferred with their back doc. Wants me to see that doc about it all. When I asked the nurse about what he has to say about the bursitis she said the back doc could do injection for me and when I asked about further radiographic correlation about the granulomatosis she said he didn't say anything about that. I told her that was my main concern and that I didn't want something happening with my hip. She said when I come in Monday to see back doc, I can then stop and see her since he will be in the office that day as well and I'll bring my MRI disc and he can look at that as well.

Is this a run around or what????? I have a call out to my insurance company to ask what I should do from this point since I'm not getting things addressed like I feel they should. My insurance company probably is getting tired of all these bills that keep coming in as well and nothing being resolved.

Just another day in paradise, but I am taking a mini vacation this weekend and heading tomorrow to Baltimore and DC.

Oh Julie, you do seem to be having such a hard time and, as you say, being given the run-around. It's quite hard for a novice to understand your story but I can gather that you are in pain and no one seems to be helping, so that is not good and you do have my sympathy. You've been through such a lot.

Well, I hope your mini-vacation gives you a shot in the arm, so to speak. Have a good time and I hope you get some answers on Monday when you get to see the back doc. Give my love to DC - used to live there and loved it.

keeping in the loop and praying for you Julie - hope you have a nice mini-vaca!!!
xoxo,
Linda.

Sorry you are getting the run around Julie. Gosh - if it is a disc at least there are tons of things they can do for you.

Please enjoy your long weekend. Baltimore - one of my favorite places!

Thanks Jaycey, I will just plug along with what they want me to do and see the back doc next.

We are going to enjoy the Inner Harbor and do a day trip to DC and enjoy 2 nights of Oriole's baseball !!

Day trip by train? Done it many times. I have family in DC. Enjoy!

So sorry you are still not getting clarity around your issues. I am sure it is maddening. Glad you were able to get a small break. Sometimes just getting out of town helps-I hope it did that for you. You are in my thoughts and I'll be following along. -cathy
