I owe you an apology as well. I have just had so many issues, one behind the other and recent tests, diagnoses, and surgery, that I have fallen behind everywhere. This group is important to me, and I did not mean to fall behind.

Hello Carol Anna,

I cannot see where I replied to you, and I am deeply sorry. Complications and more surgery have kept my plate full. I agree with you and say that we as patients are not given enough information when considering these heavy surgeries. I suppose the surgeons don't want to scare you half to death, but when it is a real complication with the possibility of altering your life, I feel it is negligent not to inform you of everything. It is not always in your best interest to be kept in the dark because you may decide to make it stop when you are hurting without considering the facts. I always feel knowledge is better than ignorance. Besides, being forwarned is like being prepared.

I am so sad to hear and read again your comment you shared with blood clots. I was on Warfarin for over one year. This drug has many horrific side effects, so one would or should do whatever is necessary to avoid a blood clot. But if not counseled with proper knowledge, most of us would not even think of this complication. It's not your fault.

How are you doing now? Are you done with the medicines to dissolve the clots? I will keep you in my prayers. Your photo makes me believe you have an excellent partner who is an advocate for you too. That is wonderful!

Apologies that I am late with a response but I have been struggling a lot with joint pain and feeling sorry for myself. When I had the PE I was taken off HRT and of course the lack of oestrogen particularly coming off cold turkey made all my joints really painful amongst other things. I checked with the hospital and was allowed to go back onto HRT as long as I continue thinners. I am one month back on HRT and have seen some improvement but I guess I need to have patience and wait for the full effect. I know the risks of HRT and I am willing to take them in order to have some level of normal life. I was in so much pain my hubby had to help me stand from a dining room chair. I don't know where I would be without him he is such a wonder and keeps me laughing even when I am not feeling great. I was doing so great just before and just after the PE and not sure how things are going to progress but very hopeful. I need to try to see a specialist in HRT but finding time and someone available is really difficult just now. I still have some chest discomfort and was sent by my GP to A & E last week the upshot being that I am not in danger of dropping dead from a heart attack. I am now waiting for the hospital to contact my GP to find out what we do next to resolve this discomfort that sometimes grows to such a level that I can't do anything. I will most likely be referred to a chest clinic. I am also waiting for some dental work but there is a shortage of dentists in the UK and appointments are scarce. I have one on the 22 June - not too long now and need a crumbling filling replacing. So many things to do and none of them on any bucket list I seem to spend most of my time seeing or talking to some health professional or other. I sound like a real misery but I am in reality quite upbeat and most of those who I meet think there is nothing wrong with me. I have taken up preaching again at church and as a Methodist Lay preacher I was invited to preach in the church we attend now which is Anglican. Things are going in the right direction but just not as fast as I would like. I really must update my post.
