Sadly the big furry one sashayed into the bedroom this morning, swishing his amazing tail and making lots of noise. When I flipped the lamp on, it was to see he'd laid a beautiful but very dead blue tit by his Daddy's bedside. He was immensely pleased with himself. We were really disappointed. Not with the quality of the gift but the fact it would have been much nicer left to visit the garden in peace. Still. Guess it's the thought that counts, eh?

Pleased to say Lovable nut has had a much more c9mfortable day today and the ankle swelling is receding. The ice and elevation is brilliant. He's been hobbling round the house today without his crutches. I've warned him against overdoing it as I think hes overdoing it but he's very determined.

Well, his knee will tell him later on if he has overdone it. It would be nice if it gave warning while he's doing the activities, but knees don't seem to work that way.

You're right, they don't. Am pleased he's getting about but after all he's experienced so far, am anxious he doesn't set himself back by trying too hard

@Lovablenut Don't worry - that new knee will quickly tell hubby if he has gone too far. Sometimes it's one step forward, two steps back. The brain says go and the body just isn't ready. Very early days!

This is Squeak, who has taken to sitting on the back of the settee behind me. Likes to observe whatever the nurse is doing in the evening....

Squeak is another stunner!! I love it when they hang out with us.

Hubby has had his staples out - all good and clean and pronounced to be healing nicely in spite of his fall and everything. Tells me he's having a lazy day (thankfully)

Looking good - but do get some ice on that knee. It is looking pretty swollen.

It does look quite swollen. Ice and elevation are in order really soon.

Agreed. First physio appt today. She was lovely - of the "slowly slowly wins the race" variety. Was amazed at the minimal scarring (we were too) and has given us some really helpful demos for exercises, pointing out where OH was making this harder for himself.

So beautiful! The physio OH saw today had two cats too. We nattered on about them loads.

OH's ROM today was 100 which we were delighted with.

That ROM is amazing just days out of surgery. Well done! Keep the icing going. It will reduce any swelling that might hinder the ROM.
